There are only few Hollywood films franchises that left a lasting pop culture effect on the audience and still considered to be the bankable cult-classic! So it was expected from the makers to come up with the next edition of the series. And finally the news, every fan of the series was waiting to be announced, has arrived with one huge bummer! Apparently, Sony Pictures has fast-tracked a spinoff of its billion-dollar alien franchise. The studio today will stake out a May 17, 2019, release date for an untitled film that has a script by Matt Holloway & Art Marcum, the writers of Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight and the bummer is Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones weren’t be reprise their role, but the plotline will be followed for the spin-off!
If you managed to digest this shock, then brace yourself! The next Men In Black movie would be merging with 21 Jump Street, with Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill’s characters donning the black suits, being galaxy cop. Although it does now seem such far-fetched since both actors and their buddy-cop comedic timing is proven to be hit with the audience, it would be feasible to infuse inter-galactic plotline into it.
In other updates, the MiB spinoff film is being produced by Walter F. Parkes and Laurie MacDonald and executive produced by Steven Spielberg and they are actively involved in meeting with top directors for this ambitious reboot.
