Ariana Grande opened up about her beauty experience on a recent edition of Vogue's Beauty Secrets. The singer discussed her experiences with cosmetic enhancements and her shifting perspective on beauty standards while demonstrating her skincare and makeup procedures.
Grande admitted to having "a ton of lip filler over the years" as well as Botox treatments. However, in 2018, she took a big choice to quit these treatments due to feelings of overwhelm and the notion that she was hiding herself behind these cosmetic modifications.
She said “Full transparency, as a beauty person, as I do my lips, [I’ve] had a ton of lip filler over the years and Botox. I stopped in 2018 because I just felt so… [it was] too much. I just felt like hiding, you know.”
Grande admitted in a vulnerable moment that, for a long time, her concept of beauty was interwoven with the act of concealing oneself. She admitted to applying makeup to "disguise" herself and conceal her actual nature. Grande's outlook has altered as she has matured, considering cosmetics as a form of self-expression rather than a cover to hide behind. She stressed the deeply personal nature of beauty and self-acceptance, as well as her desire to embrace her natural beauty, including her "well-earned cry lines and smile lines."

While Grande is open to future cosmetic modifications, she feels that people should have the freedom to make decisions that make them feel beautiful. She sees aging as a lovely journey and is open to the possibility of a facelift in the future. Grande's open talk reflects her previous words regarding body image, highlighting the necessity of compassion and empathy in discussions about looks, as well as the importance of not passing judgment on other people's bodies.
