Baby no 2!!! The Vampire Diaries fame, Ian Somerhalder and his wife Nikki Reed announce their PREGNANCY via social media post

Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder are expecting their second child. On January 10 (IST), The Vampire Diaries actor Ian shared the fantastic news with his friends, fans, and well-wishers on social media. Ian posted a picture of Niki holding their first baby in her arms and placing her second hand on her baby bump. Behind the picture was a pleasant mountain view.

Ian writes he always wanted a big family

Posting the picture on his Instagram, Ian wrote, “All I’ve ever wanted from the time I was a young boy was to have a big family. Thank you Nik for giving me that gift. ROUND TWO HERE WE GO!!!!! When I was taking this photo, I could not believe what I was seeing through that viewfinder. There’s nothing more beautiful…All I ask is that everyone sends positivity to Nik & I during this time. The social space can be a strange one, but we can also make it a great one.”

Ian and Nikki’s relationship journey

Following their PDA while visiting a farmer's market in Studio City, California, in July 2014, rumours about Reed and Somerhalder's relationship first surfaced. Somerhalder and Reed got engaged six months after going public with their relationship. Nearly two years after Ian's breakup with Nina Dobrev from the vampire drama The Vampire Diaries, Reed announced her divorce from singer Paul McDonald. At the same time, they became engaged. Three months later, in April 2015, the couple exchanged vows in a romantic ceremony in Topinga Canyon in Malibu, California. The birth of their daughter Bodhi Soleil on July 25, 2017, marked Ian and Nikki's first parenting experience. The family is now settled on a farm outside of Los Angeles, where they can live in peace and privacy away from the spotlight.
