Jenna Ortega, the star of Wednesday, wants to stay in the Burton clan. The actor is considering a part in 'Beetlejuice 2', according to numerous reports. The film's producer, Warner Bros., was unavailable for comment. Requests for comment from an Ortega spokesman went unanswered.
The announcement coincides with Ortega's release of Scream VI, which may have the best opening in the franchise's more than 25-year history.
Here’s What The Sources Stated:
Sources state that Michael Keaton will return and that Tim Burton, who directed the 1988 movie with the same name, will be the director. The production is aiming for a shoot in London in late May or early June, but there is no clear budget, which causes back and forth. If a contract is reached, Ortega, according to insiders, would play Lydia's daughter, who in the original was portrayed by Winona Ryder.
The original movie, which cost $15 million and made $80 million in box office revenue, also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jordan, and Catherine O'Hara. It won the 1989 Academy Award for best makeup. Throughout the years, the sequel has seen numerous versions, with numerous authors coming and going and Burton himself publicly vacillating about his own involvement.
Jenna Had Consistent Dreams Of ‘Bettlejuice’
According to Ortega, who most recently appeared in Burton's directed Netflix series ‘Wednesday,’ she used to have "consistent dreams" about Beetlejuice as a child. The actor's career began with appearances in ‘You’ and ‘Yes Day,’ as well as ‘Young Jane’ on The CW's Jane the Virgin. She starred in the Scream remake from last year and also made an appearance in the blockbuster ‘X.’
Jenna Ortega On ‘Wednesday’
Before the series' release ‘Wednesday,’ Ortega spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about working with Burton. “It’s been quite an insane experience. I’ve been lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with an iconic director who just so happens to be one of the sweetest directors I’ve worked with, and also the most detail-oriented.”
For Ortega, who is presenting Saturday Night Live in addition to Scream VI, this weekend is jam-packed with activities. Gilbertson Entertainment, CAA, and Jackoway Austen are Ortega's agents.
