K-pop group BLACKPINK has achieved many milestones ever since coming into existence. The all-female group, formed by YG Entertainment, keeps making it to the headlines almost every single day for some achievement or the other.
Today, BLACKPINK is in the news again for group member Lisa’s first solo album song “MONEY” setting a new record on Spotify, the largest music streaming platform in the world.
YG Entertainment on December 30 announced that “MONEY” hit 300 million streams on Spotify in the morning on the day. For the uninitiated, the song came out on September 10, 2021. It reached the milestone of 300 million hits on Spotify in just 112, which is indeed an incredible feat. This is the fastest record of a song released by a K-pop solo artist surpassing 300 million streams.
“MONEY” has beaten Jennie's “Solo,” which hit 300 million streams for the first time as a Korean solo artist in around 960 days.
Lisa has several records under her belt. Her solo album title song “LALISA” previously topped the iTunes Top Song charts in 72 countries and the Global YouTube Song Top 100 chart for 2 weeks in a row. Aside from that, “LALISA” and “MONEY” ranked 84th and 93th, respectively, on Billboard's ‘Hot 100’ chart.
