'Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All,' A Documentary Series By Disney, Has Released A Teaser

Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All, a four-part documentary series about the world-famous singer, will debut on Disney+ Hotstar on May 3. With a trailer and some key art, Disney Studios made the same announcement today.

An unlikely child with a stutter rose to popularity to become one of the biggest worldwide music superstars, and the docuseries will take viewers on a journey around the globe while highlighting how his chart-topping hits were created. As he investigates the universal themes that motivate his music, Ed offers for the first time a clear-cut and brutally honest perspective of his personal life.

The series is about when Ed receives news that alters his life, this documentary chronicles his struggles and victories during the most trying time in his life. The series broadens the lens to reveal what Sheeran thinks of the world, himself, and his music by fusing exclusive, never-before-seen personal archive, current-day reality, sincere interviews with his wife and loved ones, and private performances in cinematic settings.

Notably, the lead song, "Eyes Closed," was released on March 24. Ed's sixth studio album, "-" (pronounced "Subtract"), is scheduled to be released on May 5 through Atlantic in the US, Atlantic/Asylum Records in the UK, and Atlantic/Warner Music in the rest of the world.

“I’ve always been very guarded in my personal and private life; the only documentary I’ve ever made has been one that focused on my songwriting,” said Sheeran. “Disney approached me to make a four-part documentary, and it felt like the right time to open the door and let people in. I hope people enjoy it.”

Fulwell 73 Productions is the production house behind Ed Sheeran: The Sum of It All. Ben Turner and Ben Winston are in charge of executive producing Fulwell 73. The show is being directed by David Soutar.
