Reynolds tells how they came up with one notion after discussing how his character's MCU introduction has to be unique in the footage that was made public. Reynolds then questions as Jackman passes in the distance. He says,
"Hey, Hugh, you want to play Wolverine one more time?" "Yeah, sure, Ryan," Jackman replies. The video ends with Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You — subtitled as "I will always love Hugh" — and a "Coming Hughn" teaser.
The announcement of Wolverine's comeback sent internet users into a complete tizzy. Given the friendship between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, fans have been even more eager to discover how the Deadpool-Wolverine dynamic will play out in the movie. As Deadpool 3 officially enters the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney's acquisition of 20th Century Fox, Shawn Levy, who collaborated with Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project, is directing the film.
Fans of the X-Men last saw Jackman as Wolverine in the 2016 film Logan. Famously, Wolverine passed away at the end of the movie, and Jackman has since said that it was his swan song in part, so it's unknown how Wolverine will feature in Deadpool 3 in terms of the timeline.
