On Sunday, Hollywood actress, producer, and writer Mindy Kaling revealed that she was in Jaipur's pink city, captivating in the highlights. Her trip might be professional because she might be speculating on locations for their upcoming wedding film along with actor Priyanka Chopra. The romantic comedy film was announced in 2019. On the trip, she accompanied the writer of the untitled film, Dan Goor. The film was produced by Universal Pictures, like Crazy Rich Asians and My Big Fat Greek Wedding.

Mindy Kaling shared multiple pictures of herself in Jaipur on her Instagram and captioned them "The Pink City." She looked amazing in the floral printed midi white dress. Many of their friends and fans have reacted to her pictures. Director Nisha Ganatra commented on her post, "I love that fort so much! It's beautiful!" Actor Poorna Jagannathan commented, "Pretty in Pink." Many of them have shared red heart emojis in the comments section.
Last year, it was revealed that Mindy and Priyanka would play the role of cousins in a film set around an Indian wedding. Mindy will play an Indian-American, and Priyanka will play her cousin, who was born and raised in India. Both play a character who belongs to different cultures within India.
In the interview with Forbes in 2022, Mindy spoke "diverse representation of the Asian experience in her projects." She said, "We're really proud of it. We show South Asian Americans that are from Southern India. Then we show a Muslim Indian girl. Culturally we see how they're different from each other. The Asian experience is not a monolith. Why would people necessarily know that if they don't have shows that explain and explore that difference?"
She added, "I have this movie with Priyanka Chopra, she's a Punjabi Indian from India, and I'm an Indian American Bengali girl from the East Coast. It's so different, and that's what makes our dynamic so fun together."
