Johnny Depp testified in court again on Monday, the fourth day of his defamation court case against his ex-wife Amber Heard in Virginia. During the same time, the actor clarified his association with Disney and the scenario in which he was fired from the Pirates of the Caribbean film series due to Heard's allegations.
The actor who famously played Jack Sparrow in the film series spoke about the unfortunate end that the film received due to his removal. The actor claimed last week that the studio decided to drop him from the sixth instalment of the series days after the Washington Post printed Heard's op-ed about being a spousal abuse survivor.
While the actor also stated that he has no intention of returning to the franchise, even if Disney reaches him again. When Heard's lawyer asked Depp if he was struck from the movie series before the op-ed was published, the actor replied in court, "I was fired before the op-ed was published."
In his testimony on Monday, Depp expressed his disappointment at being dropped from the films after such a "long relationship" with the production company. The actor also stated that he was approached to participate in the screenplay of Pirates of the Caribbean 6.
