In October 2016, Kim Kardashian was robbed in Paris in her hotel room. The robber has given out parts of the original criminal plan to a news portal. The reality star was held up in her hotel room and robbed of USD 10 million in valuables. This also included her USD 4 million worth of infamous engagement ring that her now ex-husband Kanye AWest gave her.
In 2020 David Letterman invited Kim for a conversation on her OTT show. She addressed the trauma she suffered due to the incident. She shared how she felt when she was pinned down when the robbers took what they wanted. One of the twelve robbers accused of the robbery was Yunis Abbas, who is now 67 years old. He has been released from prison early after serving twenty-two months due to health reasons.
He spoke to a news portal and shared some details of the plan and even stated he felt no remorse for Kim Kardashian. He said, "I went on the internet and I saw her jewellery. I saw her ring. I saw that she showed it everywhere." He continued, "We knew this information through social media. We knew that she was coming for Fashion Week, so we went there to do some reconnaissance so we were sure." He explained that when they enter they immediately seized control over the concierge. "We came in through the little door that was open on the inside." He went on, "We defeated him and restrained him. Then we started looking for the bedroom key that she kept." He even shared, "I saw one of her shows where she threw her diamond in the pool, in that episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I thought 'She’s got a lot of money. This lady doesn’t care at all.'"
When Abbas was asked if he felt any guilt for what he has done to Kim, he replied, "I saw one of her shows where she threw her diamond in the pool, in that episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians. I thought 'She’s got a lot of money. This lady doesn’t care at all.'” He further acknowledged that although he was not as knowledgeable about Kim or the Kardashians he did know of Kanye West who was her then Husband.
