The anticipation for the 2019 film Joker sequel has been building ever since it was revealed that Lady Gaga would portray Harley Quinn opposite Joaquin Phoenix's Joker. Now. Using Instagram, the film's director Todd Philips shared the first image of the comic book character-inspired movie, which stars Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix as Harley Quinn and the Joker, respectively.

“Happy Valentine's Day!” Todd Philips captioned the photo of the movie's first look that he posted to Instagram. The identical image was posted by Lady Gaga to her Instagram account along with the message "Folie a Deux," which also serves as the name of the much awaited movie. In the picture, Gaga's Harley Quinn is seen clutching the Joker's face in her hands and expressing horror while the Joker smiles knowingly.

The 2019 picture Joker was initially intended to be a standalone, but due to its R-rated status and commercial and critical success, it ended up grossing more than $1 billion worldwide. The movie received numerous honours, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. It was also nominated for 11 Academy Awards and won two of them. For Best Actor, Joaquin Phoenix earned his first Oscar, while Hildur Gunoadottir took home the prize for Best Original Score. A sequel was announced after the film's popularity. According to sources, filming formally started in December 2022. The first movie traced the history of the Joker, who is infamous for being Batman's adversary. Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, and Robert De Niro all acted in it.
ABOUT FOLIE A DEUX
A comparable version of the DC Comics character Harley Quinn, a psychiatrist who falls in love with the Joker before adopting his startling methods, is said to be played by Lady Gaga in the follow-up. Harley Quinn was a character played by actress Margot Robbie in the Birds of Prey and Suicide Squad movies.
Joker: Folie a Deux, which Warner Bros. is preparing to release in theatres on October 9, 2024.
