The Hollywood Reporter has learned from multiple sources that longtime Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso, whose tenure with the company goes back to the release of the first Iron Man, has left the company. She left Marvel on Friday, according to sources. The reasons for the split are unknown.

The Avengers (2012), a historic movie that made $1.5 billion worldwide and propelled Marvel to new heights, saw Alonso promoted to executive director, demonstrating the viability of the shared cinematic universe idea.
Alonso worked on Marvel's Disney+ TV series in addition to acting as executive producer on the studio's following films. She received a promotion to the position of president, physical and postproduction, visual effects, and animation production in 2021.
She also directed Argentina, 1985, an international film that was nominated for an Oscar last year.
Her departure coincides with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's underwhelming box office performance and poor reception from reviewers and fans.
Alonso has been a crucial spokesperson for the studio's advocacy efforts in addition to her work behind the scenes. She was also vocal during Disney's legal battle with Florida over the state's "Don't Say Gay" law. Alonso, a gay man, said at the moment, “As long as I am at Marvel Studios, I will fight for representation,”
