Pedro Pascal has apparently been cast in the Fantastic Four film based in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, thus Marvel's First Family may have found their Reed Richards. A new picture about Marvel's First Family has been eagerly anticipated since Disney purchased 20th Century Fox and the film rights to Fantastic Four and X-Men were restored to Marvel Studios. With the ‘Fantastic Four’ film's release date set for May 2025, pre-production, including the casting hunt, has accelerated this year.

There has been a flurry of stories today about Pedro Pascal being cast as Reed Richards in the MCU's ‘Fantastic Four’ film, with DanielRPK being the first to claim he'd been offered the part. Then, according to /Film, Pascal has officially secured the agreement to play Mister Fantastic. Finally, Deadline stated that the "deal is far from done," but the trade did reveal Pascal is in discussions to join the Fantastic Four ensemble with Marvel Studios. According to Deadline, "scheduling is still being worked out," but it appears like the actor and studio will strike an agreement. Marvel Studios has yet to respond to any of the stories.
What We Know About The MCU's Fantastic Four Cast:
If Marvel Studios is close to finalising a deal with Pascal for the character of Reed Richards, it's safe to assume that the other actors are either committed or will be shortly. As a result, the four primary MCU Fantastic Four cast members may be announced before the end of 2023. Because Hollywood virtually shuts down for the last two weeks of December, the announcement might come as early as next month.
There have been a number of actors and actresses rumoured to join Pascal in Marvel's Fantastic Four revival since before the SAG-AFTRA strike began in July. There were rumours during the summer that 'Mission Impossible's' Vanessa Kirby was being considered for the part of Sue Storm, while Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn was being considered for the role of Johnny Storm. There haven't been any major rumours about Ben Grimm aka The Thing, however it has been said that Marvel is seeking for a Jewish actor.

It's unclear whether Pascal will formally sign the contract to join Marvel's ‘Fantastic Four’ film, but it'll most likely come down to timing. Pascal has a busy schedule in the next years, with roles in ‘Gladiator 2’ and ‘The Last of Us Season 2’, among other projects. Hopefully, Marvel and Pascal can come to an agreement, and the MCU will have its first official ‘Fantastic Four’ cast member.
