R.I.P: ASTRO Member Moonbin Dies At 25

According to Korean media outlets, Moonbin, a member of the K-pop boy group ‘ASTRO’, died on April 19. Moonbin was only 25 at the time. According to the Seoul Gangnam Police Station, ASTRO member Moonbin was discovered dead at his house on April 19 at 8:10 p.m. by his manager, who reportedly called the police after arriving.

Fantagio, his management company, released an official statement. It said, "This is Fantagio. First and foremost, we apologize for having to deliver this painful and sad news. ASTRO member Moonbin abruptly left us on April 19 and has since become a star in the sky. Although nothing can compare to the grieving family's sadness at losing their beloved son and brother, his fellow artists and the staff here at Fantagio, who have been with him for a long time, are also sadly mourning the deceased amid immense shock and sorrow.”

The statement further read, “It bothers us, even more, to have to break the news to the fans who have shown Moonbin unconditional love and support. Because we know all too well just how unparalleled the departed [Moonbin] was in his love for his fans, whom he was constantly thinking of, the grief is all the more overwhelming.”

Moonbin, a member of the K-pop boy band ‘ASTRO’, made his debut on February 23, 2016. He began acting at an early age and starred in the popular K-drama 'Boys Over Flowers' as the younger version of actor Kim Bum's character. Moonbin debuted as an ASTRO member as well as a member of its first subgroup, Moonbin & Sanha, on September 14, 2020.

Moonbin was set to perform as part of the group's activity at the upcoming Dream Concert. Astro was founded by six individuals. It made its debut in February 2016. In February of this year, it was reported that member Rocky would be leaving the group after his contract with the firm expired.
