Wonder Woman 3: Will It Happen?, Gal Gadot HINTS Through her post

Wonder Woman 3 with Gal Gadot is apparently not going to happen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, newly hired co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran are rumoured to have shelved plans for the impending third instalment of Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman trilogy, therefore Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios are reportedly going back to the drawing board.

The Hollywood Reporter claims that after director Patty Jenkins and writer Geoff Johns submitted a script proposal, they were informed that the film would not fit with the studio's intentions for the future of the DC Universe as it currently stood. The movie's cancellation has not yet been formally confirmed. At the start of the month, DC Studios named Gunn and Peter Safran as co-CEOs.

Strangely, news of Wonder Woman 3's cancellation surfaced not long after Gal Gadot published a post honouring the superhero's nine-year run in the role. Gadot shared a picture of herself in a costume and wrote, ‘On this day, a few years ago, was the first announcement that I was going to play Wonder Woman.

I’ve been so grateful for the opportunity to play such an incredible, iconic character and more than anything I’m grateful for YOU. The fans. The most amazing, warm, loving fans in the world. I’m still pinching myself to see if I will wake up. Can’t wait to share her next chapter with you’

In terms of the studio's upcoming releases, Black Adam starring Dwayne Johnson was just released. Additionally confirmed is Henry Cavill's planned comeback as Superman. According to reports, the actor will reappear as the superhero in DC's upcoming film The Flash, starring Ezra Miller, which is set to hit theatres on June 23, 2023.
