EXCLUSIVE! Actor Amar Upadhyay talks about his show, ‘Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho’; adds that he hopes to produce films in the future

Amar Upadhyay is a name that has been popular in every household for years now. He rose to fame with shows like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ and Dekh Bhai Dekh. Despite having a long career in the entertainment world, Amar Upadhyay has always preferred to work behind the lens. However, it took a long time for him to realize his desire, but he was able to achieve it by affirming that the wait was worthwhile. The wish came true as in the new romantic drama Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho. Amar Upadhyay plays the main actor and is also the producer for this show, respectively. The actor-producer sat for an exclusive interview with BollywoodMDB, where he discusses his experience after turning producer and also what he aims for as a producer in the future.

Amar Upadhyay talks about his experience as a producer

I had long desired to work as a producer, and now that I had the chance, I did so and really enjoyed it. It is both a highly unique responsibility and enjoyable. When you create something and other people see it, it feels good. And you will know that your job was accomplished when they love it. I, therefore, believe that our attempt was successful.

Amar Upadhyay elaborates on how it is on the sets with his crew and how he manages to juggle between acting and working as a producer

In addition to acting, there is a lot of other work to be done, such as writing, editing, meeting with the channel, and production work. I certainly enjoy being involved in everything. It is not like nobody on my crew is new; everyone who works in the various areas is quite seasoned. Everyone else, including the director, is quite experienced; the lead actress is the only one who marks her debut with the show. My work is rather simple because I work with an excellent team and am surrounded by good people.

Amar aims to work as a producer of movies

When asked if he plans to work as a producer in the OTT or film industries in the future, he responds, "Now that I've jumped in, I'll swim further. So it's likely that I'll start making movies later on.

About the show, Kyunkii Tum Hi Ho

The character of Kavya is played by Priyanka Dhawale, who comes from a middle-class family in a small village. She aspires highly. Numerous obstacles stand in her way as she works toward accomplishing them, but she overcomes them one at a time.
