3 Thay Bhai is a Hindi feature film produced by Rakesh Ompakash Mehra who had earlier directed some films like AKS, RANG DE BASANTI, DELHI 6 etc among which only RANG DE BASANTI was a hit and th rest did average business despite being good films and big stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan in them. This time he has produced a film but gave the responsibility of direction to someone else, which is really brave deed.

Story : Happy Gill (Om Puri), Chisky Gill (Deepak Dobriyaal) and Fancy Gill (Shreyas Talpade) are three bothers but just for name sake. These three brothers never miss an opportunity to embarrass each other and do not like each other. Eldest brother runs a small shop whereas middle brother doesn't have any degree yet he is practicing as a doctor. Youngest one thinks himself number one actor. Moreover, in the few years they haven't even seen each other's face. Because of their nature they are under the burden of heavy debts and do not know how to get rid of the debts.

Meanwhile they come to know that their grandfather (Yog Raj Singh) had left a will in their name which consisted wealth of crores. But there was one condition that the will would get materialized only if all three brothers accomplish one task together.

On one hand the three brothers do not even want to see each other's face and on the other hand they have to work together so that they can get the wealth. Hence they start working together but meanwhile some incidents take place due to which police arrests them accusing them involved in drugs racket.

Performance : Even though the script of the film doesn't impress you, the actors Om Puri and Deepak Dobriyal have put life in their characters. In the role of eldest brother Om Puri impresses you and seems dominating his younger brothers. Whereas, the director has made Shreyas Talpade to act loud, which also appears noisy over acted.

Ragini Khanna looks beautiful and has the potential do go ahead but in this film where the story only rotates around the three brothers Ragini had hardly something to do. She has got very little footage.

In the role of grandfather, Yog Raj Singh is average.

Script : It is very confusing, full of complications and boring.

Music : Rakesh Mehra's earlier films had good music which is even played now on some occasions but this film has three music directors; yet its songs fail to impress you. None of the songs in this film can be remembered after you get out of the theater. Youngsters are hardly going to like this film or its music. Daler Mehandi's title song pops always in between, which is irritating and wasn't needed.

Direction : The director is unable to hold the film from the beginning till the end. The film lacks to hook you from the start till end. Post interval you would feel that you are watching any serial. Climax is very disappointing.

Conclusion : Rakesh Mehra has earlier made films like DELHI 6 & RANG DE BASANTI which were different from the commercial films' trend but it is very difficult to understand what made him to make such a film! After all what did he find in this subject which impressed him so much that he got ready to invest so much money and take such a big risk!!

Last year when Rakesh Mehra had announced this film then he had said that this film was going to be his best and special film of his career till date. He had said that this subject was different from the mainstream cinema. But now, when the film is in front of you and when you watch it in theater, you feel yourself cheated when you come out of the cinema hall.

There are many scenes in the film which are quite boring. The director and the produced needed to work on the weak script to make it fast and interesting.

Verdict : There is nothing special in this film for which you should waste your high earned money and time. Well, if you are a fan of Om Puri you can go for it once or else wait for its satellite release.
