AGENT VINOD is a Hindi feature film which released on 23rd March, 2012. This was a much publicized and much awaited film of Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor. This film has been directed by Sri Ram Raghavan and has been produced by Saif Ali Khan's home production Illuminati Films along with Eros entertainment. This film falls in the genre of suspense thriller; but does it create thrill in your? Does it send spine chilling experience as a real thriller should do?? Was this the kind of film you were waiting for all these months? Read ahead to know the truth….

Story : Vinod (Saif Ali Khan) plays the title role as Agent Vinod who is an intelligent officer (a secret agent) of India. He is handed over a dangerous and mysterious task and he moves from this country to that country; fighting with many goons; escaping many situations and killing his enemies.

Acting : Saif Ali Khan appears to be good as a secret agent and he also performs well but doesn't look clever; in fact he looks over smart which he is certainly not which spoils his image. Kareena Kapoor is okay but in the song Dil Mera Mufat Ka (which is also called as mujra) another lady steals the show through her fantastic dance steps and glamour. She seems to be a better dancer than Kareena Kapoor.

Script : The story is confusing. It goes here and there in the same way the protagonist goes from this country to that country. The screenplay is fast but without any meaning. It doesn't give you time to think and there is nothing to think about it because there is nothing in it. This is not the same as JOHNY GADDAR of Sri Ram Raghavan. Most of the characters and sequences are unconvincing and unclear. You are unable to understand what the makers want to convey you.

Music : Pritam is the music director of this film. Music of this film is very good. In fact most of the songs such as Dil Mera Muft Ka (so called mujra song) is excellent (audio wise; not video wise). Similarly Pungi Bajaa De is also catchy and has become super hit. One more song titled as I'll Do Talking Tonight is catchy and has become hit. You can play these songs several times. They are pleasant to hear (if you forget from where they are inspired) and you can repeat them many times for a few weeks. But would the hit music of the film cause the film to be HIT??

Direction : Sri Ram Rahgvan has directed this film who earlier directed JOHNY GADDAR. This film has not been directed as well as his earlier film. This is a bit confusing and unconvincing. Of course, the director has incorporated good songs but he could not keep the content good. His characters are confusing and unattractive. The director is unable to convey his message. In no way this film matches James Bond films.

Plus Points : Super Hit Music; Actions; Speed

Minus Points : Confusing Script; Unconvincing & Undefined Characters; Unnecessary Sequences

Conclusion : It is said that this film is the remake of 1977 film with same title but the director denies. The director also denies that he has copied James Bond film. Well, this film was in the genre of thriller (spy thriller) which is a super hit genre for a film to do good business but it will not work here because just for the namesake it is a spy thriller. It isn't what you had expected. This film was highly promoted and also there is no other release this week so there is no competitor of the film which may cause it to earn some revenues. Due to high promotions and the hit songs, the film may gain houseful on its first day but as the days will pass, it will lose its charm and revenues collection will go down. Its music is super hit so due to music this film will get some benefits but in the long run it is very difficult to recover ' 60 crore which is its making cost.

Verdict : Not the film you were waiting to watch. It is good in parts; not as whole. It mostly disappoints. If you are a fan of Saif-Kareena; go for it!
