All Is Well Review

One line Review: A disappointing comic drama that terribly fails to live up to its genre and delivers a half baked positive message that lacks depth.

Positive Points: Veteran actors Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak's performances. Some of the songs minus the film are good. But, they can really be more likable if you just listen to them otherwise and not with the film as the loopholes of the movie won't let you enjoy them as much.

Negative Points: The film lacks depth and the script is supremely weak. The underdeveloped characters failed to connect with the audiences; there is humour that fails to entertain and becomes annoying after a certain point.

Plot: Indar, (Abhishek Bachchan) who is frustrated with his parents' constant arguments, leaves his father's home to make a career in music, chooses to settle in Bangkok. Indar has a messy childhood where all he has witnessed is disturbed relationships, poor financial status of the family, arguments and hence become very negative and swears not to get married ever. He also rejects to be in a relationship with his friend Nimmi (Asin) who loves him immensely. After 10 years, Indar returns to India after receiving a call from Chema (Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub) to collect his share in the property but finds himself in a fix when it turns out that, he has been called to give away the ownership of the property to Chema, from whom his father has lent a huge amount of money. His father Bhallaji (Rishi Kapoor) who runs a small bakery business is obsessed with his shop and does not want to sell it. Amidst the chaos, Indar discovers that his mother (Supriya Pathak) is suffering from Alzheimer's and lives in an Ashram.

The entire family stumbles upon an unforeseen road trip that turns the disturbed relationship scenario upside down. How this road trip brings the family closer is the further watch in the movie.

Direction and other Technical Aspects: Director Umesh Shukla has done an average job and has failed to uplift the script that is weaved badly. The dialogues are flat and lack the impact. The humour that they wished to create has terribly gone wrong! The movie was truly a disappointing affair. It lacked the grip and could not keep the audiences hooked. The storyline and the execution are not impactful.

Performances: Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor performed his role with full conviction. He tried to present his character to the fullest despite the weak script.

Supriya Pathak is an exceptional actor but her skills are completely wasted in this film. She hardly has any dialogues but still she manages to pull off her part very well.

Abhishek Bachchan has done an averagely decent job while Asin also has essayed her role fairly well. Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub is a talented actor but due to the weak script and flat execution, his role could not make the desired impact.

Music: Most of the songs in the film are good. To mention a few, 'Baaton Ko Teri' is a melodious song while 'Nacha Faratedar' is a loud dance number. 'Hafte Me Chaar Shanivar' is already topping music charts.

Final Verdict: The family entertainer lacks soul and fails to live up to its comic genre. The message of family togetherness that is intended is not impactful. The second half though is watchable; hence the movie has been rated 1.5 stars.
