Rating: 2.5/5

One Line Review: A very strong , emotional tear jerking story which is poorly executed.

Positive Points: The subject of the movie, well researched story, character performances, first half

Negative Points: Poor execution of the story, direction, stretched second half, delayed climax

Plot: The film revolves around an eight year old kid Ankur Arora (Vishesh Tiwari) who lives with his single mother Nandita (Tisca Chopra). Ankur complains about a severe stomach pain to his mother who runs him into the big hospital of the city, Shekhawat General Hospital. A medical intern Dr. Romesh (Arjun Mathur) admits him in the hospital and the case is handed over to the expert surgeon Dr. Asthana (Kay Kay Menon) who is an arrogant celebrity doctor of a posh hospital who thinks himself as the God and believes his noble profession is a business. Dr. Asthana decides to perform a surgery to treat Ankur's appendicitis. Due to Dr. Asthana's carefree attitude and negligence, complications arise in the operating room and Ankur succumbs to the death on the operating table. Romesh, who believes Asthana as his mentor and icon gets shattered after seeing his mentor's other side.

Arrogant Asthana gets desperate to cover up his blunder and threatens everybody in the operating room to destroy their careers if the truth gets leaked out by anybody. Nandita gets devastated over the death of her only son but accepts the made up story by the hospital. But being a noble medicine man, Romesh shares everything with Nandita and the quest for justice begins for both of them. However Romesh's colleague and love of live Dr. Riya(Vishakha Singh) does not stand by him in this fight for justice. But an upright lawyer Kajori Sen (Paoli Dam) joins the duo and the matter reaches to the court.

Will Nandita be able to get the justice or the big names in the society will be able to cover up their crime?

Direction and Other Technical Aspects: Director Suhail Tatari has messed up with the well grounded script. Vikram Bhatt has done lots of research and taken lots of hard work to write the perfect script for the film which handles the sensitive and slice of life issue of medical negligence. But the subplot of Paoli Dam and her affair with the opposing lawyer and her abortion could have been easily avoided by the script writer. The first half is good and engages you but the second half is too much stretched. The dialogues could have been more powerful. They appear naive to speak about such a burning issue. In short , Suhail Tatari has not become successful in good execution of the perfect story which could have become a tear jerk and heart touching. In addition, the film has too many medical terminologies which are alien for a common viewer. May be that was the need of the script, but the dialogue writer could have made the dialogues simpler and easily comprehensible. The editing is left with the space for improvement.

Performance: Kay Kay Menon has given an honest performance as usual. But in some scenes, he appears monotonous. But he has enlivened the character of arrogant Dr. Asthana who thinks himself of a God. Tisca Chopra has given a splendid performance as a broken mother. She appears real and honest. Her expressions are genuine and she delivers her dialogues with the perfect intensity. This is can be credited as her one of the best performances.

New talent Arjun Mathur as an honest medical intern shines in his role. He has delivered his part well. Vishakha Singh marks her presence on screen well. But Paoli Dam, whom we get to see in a deglam avatar needs to polish her acting skills as she looks flat and straight-faced during some scenes. Other supporting cast performed at par.

Music: There are no song numbers in this film. We get to see the songs running in the background of the story which compliment the storyline and makes the film more heart touching.

Final Verdict: If you are looking for an entertainment quotient , then avoid it. People who want to know more about the medical negligence, can watch it for its well researched story and character performances.
