ARJUN is an animated film which released on 25th May, 2012 all over India. However, in some parts of India, it is reported to be released a day or two before its scheduled date due to various reasons. This film has been produced by Ronnie Screwvala under the banner of UTV Motion Pictures and Walt Disney India and is directed by Arnab Chaudhari. Whether you should watch this movie or not, you will get some idea by reading the review below!
Story : It is the story of Arjun, the warrior, the great archer of Mahabharata. Almost everyone knows about Arjun-The Warrior. Of the five Pandav brothers, he was the one. They had a common wife Draupadi and they fought with Kauravas in Kurukshetra with God Krishna from their side.
But the film is not complete Mahabharata but it contains vital incidents and stories connected with Arjun. This is the reason the film stars in the middle of the story and continues you narrating the story related with Arjun till he achieves his goal.
Acting : There are not real actors in the film but animated characters who would surely impress you and you would not feel the absence of real actors.
Script : This film is based on the real character of the great epic Mahabharata which is considered one of the best scripts (if you call it script). It contains - Drama, Thrill, Suspense, Action and almost everything.
Music : Music is well composed by Vishal-Shekhar and it also leaves impact after you leave the cinema hall/theatres.
Direction : The director Arnab Chaudhuri has done a good job and has tried to portray the character of Arjun in a well manner. He has presented the animated characters very well. He has also taken good work from the voice over artists.
Plus Points : The Character Arjun Itself; The Story; Music; Direction
Minus Points : Lack of Promotion
Conclusion : Arjun is one of the most famous characters of Mahabharata. His story is known to almost everyone. Yet people would enjoy his deeds because when you make such movies with real artists you have limitations but when you use animated characters you can even show the impossible shots, actions and locations. Hence it looks great on the screen. People love to watch their holy characters time and again, and if they are presented in a well manner, it attracts the mass. In that condition, despite being an animation film, this film would do good business.
Verdict : It is worth watching Arjun. You can even take your family. Even if you know everything about Arjun, it will be a revision and your children will come to know about many important characters of Mahabharata. Hence go for it!
