AZAAN is a Hindi feature film which released on 14th September, 2011. It has been produced under the banner of JMJ Entertainment PVT LTD & Alchemia Films and has been directed by Prashant Chadha.

Story : This is the story of a young upright army officer Azaan Khan (played by Sachiin Joshi), who is a secret agent of RAW. He is an Indian of Afghan origin and has got training at the NDA. India is under attack and as a secret agent; he has to go undercover beyond enemy lines. He also comes to know that his brother had turned a terrorist. He is in the mission to foil the bad notions of his enemies as well as he has to find out his brother who was working for a big gang. On his mission, he meets a girl named Afreen who helps him to realize about his inner human sentiments.

Does Azaan foil the ill intentions of the terrorists? Does he find out his brother? How his brother reacts when he sees Azaan? What is the end of his meeting with Afreen? These are the answers which make the rest of the film.

Performance : Sachiin Joshi has shown his muscles, which is okay to some extent but has to work more on his emotions and performance. Only body building would not work in the film industry. You have to be a good actor also. He is unable to bring the expression what his role required. However, his actions are okay and will be liked by the audience.

Candice Boucher is good and the director and the DOP has portrayed her to look beautiful. Even though she is and international model, she got into the shoe of the role. But her chemistry with Sachiin was not up to the mark.

Ravi Kissen is okay in his short role. So is Arya Babbar who got a small footage yet did his best to leave good impact on the mind of the audiences.

Script : The story contains good message but is not presented in the right manner so it loses its impact. It is confusing and dull. Most of the things are not convincing. However, the dialogues are okay and get successful in creating the sense of patriotism. However, the writer fails to explain you the love track between Azaan and Afreen.

DOP : The cinematographer Axel Fischer has done a wonderful job by capturing the shots and worldwide locations in an impactful way. This film has been shot in the various parts of the world such as Thailand, France, Germany, Poland, South Africa, Indian etc. and the DOP has captured all the locations very well.

Music : Music has been composed by Salim-Sulemaan which is okay and the songs are placed well.

Direction : This film has been directed by Prashant Chadha who has earlier directed the films and albums of Himesh Reshmaiyaan such as AAP KA SUROOR. He tried to portray a right subject but failed to create that sensation. He shot this film in various parts of the world which hardly impress you. He spent so much money in shooting worldwide but of no use. The story treatment seems to be poor. He could not take good job from his main actor. The direction seems to be confused while shooting the screenplay.

Conclusion : Despite being shot at various locations of the world this film doesn't impress you. Except the action scenes, this film is hardly going to impress you. It may find some audience but may not do any miracle at the box office.

Verdict : No problem in watching once. Don't expect anything else except a few good action scenes.
