Bajrangi Bhaijaan Review

Positive Points: The entire movie is an epitome of positivity. The story is presented flawlessly and the message that the director and the makers are willing to shower has blossomed and come out gorgeously from the entire narration. The aspect of the Hindu-Muslim prejudice that exists in both the countries is handled delicately which is truly appreciable.

Negative Points: There was hardly anything in the film to complain about except for the minor errors which can be easily overlooked and are covered under the shadow of the positive aspects.

Plot: Pavan Chaturvedi aka Bajrangi is a simple, humble and a sincere devotee of Lord Hanumanji who is leading a normal life in Delhi when one fine day while on his everyday routine meets a little girl of about six years of age who is mute by birth. The little girl named Shahida (Harshaali Malhotra) came to Delhi, India with her mother to visit a famous Dargaah. Shahida accidently is left behind while her mother crosses the border and the little girl is now alone in the unknown land with nowhere to go. Bajrangi does all he can to figure out who this little girl is and where she belongs to in order to unite her with her family in the course of which a beautiful bond develops between them. Rasika (Kareena Kapoor) who is a school teacher and also the love interest of our hero supports him to the fullest. After an obnoxious incident, Bajrangi takes it all on him to take the child across the border despite all the odds. The story further unfolds when Bajrangi reaches Pakistan crossing several roadblocks and meets a kind-hearted journalist (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who helps them reach their destination.

Direction and other Technical Aspects: The narration and the storytelling is fantastically done that maintains the grip throughout. The background score and the camera work is exceptional. The execution of the script by the director is just right. The writing is something which makes this film magical. The dialogues again are sure to give you lovable doses of laughter every now and then. The message of cross-border peace and love is delivered effortlessly which is commendable.

Performances: Salman Khan made the most intelligent and apt debut as a producer with this film. Salman's movies usually feature larger than life action and drama but with this film, the actor shines as a performer. His role is more of a simple, down to earth guy who has a humble personality which he portrays beautifully.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui delivers a natural and realistic performance. He was funny, quirky and simply flawless as a Pakistani journalist. Kareena Kapoor as Rasika just perfectly fits the bill and does full justice to her role. Though she has fairly less number of sequences, still she manages to make her presence felt. The little girl Harshaali is an angel. She brilliantly essays her part of a mute girl with ease. All the supporting actors performed their part quite well which enhanced the execution all the more.

Music: Some of the songs like 'Selfie', 'Tu Chahiye' and 'Party Meri Taraf Se' are already topping music charts. The heart touching and devotional qawwali by Adnan Sami also is incredibly composed.

Final Verdict: 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' is a must watch and a movie that leaves you with an optimistic and pure feeling. It is the genuine and sheer effort of the makers and their team to portray a simple yet heart touching story in such an exceptional manner. It is a complete family entertainer and the little Harshaali earns all the extra brownie points.
