Those who love watching stories based on historical or mythological themes, must be disappointed to see the TV soaps running these days. The innocence has been completely taken away and masala added to compete with the usual saas-bahu serials. Off late, a premier TV channel miserably twisted the plot around Meera. But Bal Ganesh 2 is far from being cheaply commercialized, which should be the best reason to watch the movie. The cute Lord Ganesha in animated form is definitely enjoyable.
The man who directed Bal Ganesh Part 1 in 2007, has directed the sequel and done a remarkable job. Thanks to Shemaroo Entertainment for bringing back the Chotu Gannu in a more beautiful form. Though the festive season is over, Bal Ganesh 2 will refresh your mood once again.
As the plot goes, if you have watched Part 1, you would quickly pick up the story. And even if you haven't, the movie is made in such a manner that you would surely enjoy it. In terms of animation, it's far more sophisticated than the former one.
There are three different stories around which the movie is made. The first is how Lord Ganesha plays a prank on a cat. In the second story, Sage Vyasa dictates a book to Lord Ganesha and he writes it. The third story is Ganesha's fight with a powerful demon, Gajmukhasur.
Acclaimed singer Sukhwinder Singh has sung in this movie along with Suresh Wadkar and Neeraj Sridhar. The movie is a must watch, even if you are not a great fan of mythological movies. Its animation is a class apart.
