BUMBOO is a Hindi feature film which released on 30th March, 12. This film has been directed by Jagdish Rajpurohit and it appears to fall in the genre of comedy. But does this film really make your laugh? Read ahead the review to make your decision.
Story : Sudhir Pandey, who plays the role of Manu Gupta, is a fraud; a big scamster. He is on trial and now he is being shifted from Mumbai to Goa. But his behavior is very weird which makes the journey of the policemen who are taking him very uncomfortable and painful. On the other hand someone hires Mangal Singh (Sharat Saxena) to murder Manu Gupta. Mangal Singh is a contract killer. Another character in the film, who is roped in, is Suresh Sudhakar (Kavin Dave), who plays the role of a photographer. Suresh is an ill-fated divorcee who also known as SuSu. His has got the job to cover the reports of Manu Gupta. Story of his family life such as his ex-wife is also shown in the film.
Due to strange reason, Suresh tries to commit suicide in his room by hanging himself. This incident brings Mangal, Suresh and Manu Gupta together.
What happens later you can watch in the rest of the movie? Does Mangal Singh succeed in killing Manu Gupta? What happens to Suresh?
Acting : As usual Sanjay Mishra has done his job very well. He impresses you with his acting but the problem is with his role i.e. his character which may not convince and which may not impress you. Similarly, Sharat Saxena did his part very well. Kavin Dave is also not bad.
Script : The plot is a bit confusing and screenplay loose. The script doesn't keep you hooked or doesn't make you laugh as much as you expect. It is a film based on an average script.
Music : Below average
Direction : Jagdish Purohit tries to create humor and fun but he fails to do so completely. Of course, he manages to create fun at some places but that is not enough when you have so small star casts. He has also created confusion his narration. I the end he has tried to follow the path of Priyadarshan by making his characters run here and there with full speed.
Plus Points : Not Worth Mentioning
Minus Points : Small Star Casts, Music, Script, Direction
Conclusion : Films with less fun but big stars may work to some extent, but when you have small star cast, your script must be superb because audience come to watch the content and not the stars. In this matter, this film fails hence it is difficult to survive on the box office. But since it is a small budget film, and there is hardly any film as its competitor, it may attract audience in single screen theatres to some extent but that may not continue for long.
Verdict : Not bad film but not even entertainer. It gives you pain more than enjoyment.
