CHAALIS CHAURASI is a Hindi feature film which released on 13th January, 2012. This film has been produced by Anuya Mhaiskar, Sachin Awasthee and Uday Shetty and directed by Hriday Shetty.

Story : CHAALIS CHAURASI is the story of Pankaj Suri (Naseeruddin Shah), Bobby (Atul Kulkarni), Pinto (Kay Kay Menon) and Shakti (Ravi Kissen). Their previous life is completely different from what they are at present. Earlier they were professor and in various other professions but they are heading to commit a crime. These people happen to come together through various ways and get a police van and so they pretend to be police. They are on the way to rob Rs. 20 crores. But they did not know that someone would really consider then as real policemen. A real policeman considers them as real policemen and hands over them the task to gun down Bisleri (Zakir Hussain). What happens later is what make the rest of the film.

Acting : Naseer-ud-din Shah is good as usual. He can do comic roles also if he is given good script. Kay Kay is also okay. Ravi Kissen is a bit loud somewhere otherwise he is okay with the script.

Script : The story of the film is not convincing and screenplay is weak but dialogues are a bit above average.

Music : Music of the film is below average. However there are songs more than required.

Direction : The direction of Hriday Shetty is okay but he needs to choose a good script (much powerful than this) if he has to make a good position in Bollywood. He has tried to make you smile to some extent at a few places.

Conclusion : Since there is hardly any film in its competition, it may gain some revenue. It has to earn whatever it can before the release of AGNEPATH of Sanjay Dutt.

Verdict : Not a bad film; however not a must watch movie. If you have nothing to do this weekend and want to watch a new film, no problem in going for it.
