Chatur Singh Two Star Review

CHATUR SINGH TWO STAR is a Hindi feature film which released on 19th August, 2011. Its genre is comedy and is produced by Mohammad Aslam under the banner of Pen India Pvt. Ltd, Lotus Pictures. This film has been directed by Ajay Chandok.

Story : Chatur Singh (played by Sanjay Dutt) is a different type of police officer who acts very differently from his colleagues. He is not regarded intelligent and brilliant in his department. Once he is given a task to go to South Africa and solve a case. This is his last and the best opportunity to prove his worth.

Chatur Singh sets off to South Africa with his aide Suresh Menon.

There luckily Chatur Singh solves a murder mystery and he is admired by his department and upgraded his stars from two star to three star.

Performance : Sanjay Dutt is excellent in his role. He has done his comic part brilliantly. Though he had proved earlier in MUNNA BHAI MBBS & DHAMAAL etc. that he can do comedy well, in this film he proves that he can do comedy very well.

Suresh Menon is okay in his role as he has not been given enough footage to show his excellence.

Satish Kaushik is a brilliant actor when it comes to comedy. But in this film the director could not utilize his talent to the fullest which could be the reason you do not find him impressing.

Ameesha Patel is average.

Script : The script written by Rumy Jaffery is weak and has many loopholes in it. Dialogues are not quirky and do not create humor. Instead of creating fun they irritate you.

Music : Its music is given by Sajid-Wajid who gave the hit music of DABAANG. Yet its music is one timer. You can't call it bad but you can't even call it excellent.

Costumes : Costumes department has done brilliant job by designing various funny costumes for Sanjay Dutt.

Direction : The director fails to utilize Sanjay Dutt who did so well in MUNNABHAI MBBS. Ajay Chandok fails to create humor and irritates you at many places.

Conclusion : This film is based on the novel 'Chalaak Jasoos' but fails to entertain you. This film irritates you rather than entertaining you.

Plus Point : Sanjay Dutt & his looks are plus point of the film but they are of no use due to poor script and direction.

Verdict : Not advised to watch in theaters but you can watch it after its satellite release or on DVD if you have time.
