DIL TO BACHCHA HAI JI is a Hindi film produced under the banner of Bhandarkar Entertainment and Wide Frame Pictures which is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.
Cast: Ajay Devgan, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shahzahn Padamsee, Shruti Haasan, Shraddha Das, Tisca Chopra, Rituparna Sengupta, Mukesh Tiwari
Music : Pritam Chakravarti
Script : Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Chhel, Neeraj Udwani, Anil Pandey
Story : Naren ahuja (Ajay Devgan) is seeking a divorce from his wife (Rituparna Sengupta) and he is also unable to afford to pay loan which he had taken for his bungalow. Therefore he needs some paying guests to raise some money. For this purpose he finds two paying guests 1) Abhay (Emraan Hashmi) and 2) Milind Kelekar (Omi Baidhya).
The characters of Abhay and Milind are totally different. Abhay is a flirt and playboy and sex is more important for him rather than love whereas Milind's viewpoint is different who believes in true love.
Naren falls in love with a girl June Pinto (Shahzan Padmsee) who is half of his age. June is an easy going natured girl who works in Naren's office. Naren misinterprets June's behaviour because love overtures. Naren is too fond of June. He spends more time with her and he accompanies her to various parties to be with her for more time. Would he be able to get her love? What would be result of their relation?
Abhay too falls in love a girl named Shruti. Has he really fallen in love or its something else?
Milind has fallen in love with Gungun Sarkar (Shrassha Das) but Gungun is just using him to fulfill her dream. Would Milind come to know the truth? What would be his reaction?
All the above answers make the rest of the film.
Performance : Ajay Devgan has done well as a lover of a 20 year girl. Imraan Hashmi is seen like his previous films. Omi is excellent in his role and he would get many comic roles in future. All female actresses have justified their roles.
Script : Script written by Madhur Bhandarkar, Sanjay Chhel, Neeraj Udwani, Anil Pandey is average. The film could have been more comical and funny but the writers missed many aspects of fun. They had got good plot to incorporate funny elements but failed to do so. However screenplay and dialogues are okay.
Direction : No doubt Madhur Bhandarkar is an excellent director. His earlier films CHANDANI BAAR, PAGE 3, CORPORATE, FASHION etc have proved it. He has always made films based on real life issues but this time he has experimented something different where he fairly succeeds. It would be better if he chose to do realistic films as he did earlier but with some entertaining elements in them.
Minus Point: Pritam is a good music director but none of the songs in this film are hit which a minus point of the film. Hit music & tracks could have helped the films business.
Verdict : The film has made an attempt to entertain you in a different way hence if you are grown up you can go for it. Not Bad!
