Don 2 Review

DON 2 was one of the most awaited films of Bollywood for the year 2011. It released on 23rd December 2011. There were many reasons behind it why this film was much awaited. Firstly it was being made as the sequel of first film DON which was unsuccessful (of Shah Rukh and not of Amitabh Bachchan) and secondly it was 2nd film after the most promoted and most expensive film RA.ONE of Shah Rukh Khan. Story : You can understand its story only if you have watched its first version i.e DON of Shah Rukh Khan. Almost 5 years ago police had trapped DON but here DON has himself trapped the police. Roma and Malik have been trapped in this film by DON. In this film the Indian DON wants to conquer international market of drugs business. He spreads his business all over Europe. Everyone is behind him to catch him but to catch DON is almost impossible. Can any one catch Don is the mystery of the film.

Acting : The acting of Shah Rukh Khan is good in this film. His dialogue delivery is different in it and has given some style to his appearances. Lara Dutta has given stress more on her beauty rather than acting part. However she is okay. Priyanka Chopra looks better then many of her previous films. Boman Irani is excellent. Even in a small role, Hritik Roshan leaves impressive impact.

Script : Screenplay is tight and fast whereas story line is thin and complicated. Dialogues are up to the mark. However, its screenplay becomes slow at many places which bore you in the theater and give you reason to exit for loo.

Music : Music of this film is composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy which is average. However, background music is good and suits the requirement of the scenes.

Direction : Farhan Akhtar has directed it extremely well. His shots and takings are fantastic. He has used stunts which are like Hollywood stunts.

Conclusion : The plot of DON (its original version of Amitabh Bachchan of Salim-Javed) was so interesting and thrilling that any film made as its sequel would have been interesting. Since the same film was made starring Shah Rukh Khan a few years back it didn't do well because Shah Rukh could not match the star of the millennium in any way. But in this film he is not going to be compared with anyone hence it proves to be good. Also it looks original hence Shah Rukh has developed his own style which may be liked by his fans. This film also releases on the festive season of Christmas and New Year so it is surely going to get its advantage in terms of revenues.
