Encounter - The Killing Plot
The film commences with the story of four college going boys in their teens who have resorted to the profession of Sharp Shooters for easy money. They kill Ramanna, a hotel owner and flee to Shrivardhan. One of their colleagues, Martin, is suspected of being involved in anti-social acitivities by his parents after they chance upon a huge amount of money and a revolver in his bag. When they confront him, Martin confesses and they immediately hand him over to the police. Sam Bharucha decides to nab the three other's at Shrivardhan where they have gone into hiding. Bharucha reaches Shrivardhan and instructs his team to arrest all of them. The three boys try to escape and a shoot out takes place in which Lilly Sonal and Nana get gunned down by the squad while one of them (Lallya) is shot by the Inspector Bharucha himself. Bharucha has never ever killed anyone in his long career as a cop…and the realization that he has actually killed someone, torments him. His guilt becomes worse when he realizes that Lallya was on the verge of surrendering himself shortly before Bharucha's gun got him! The bodies of the other two Sharp Shooters are claimed by their parents while Lallya's body remains unclaimed. Bharucha feels that Lallya could be from a good family and that his relatives and parents should have the privilege of performing his last rites. He along with his assistant and Kiran Jayawant, a News Reporter from a television channel, try to locate Lallya's parents. Punappa Avadhe, who owns a liquor den is an old-timer from the under-world. He takes the police department and Inspector Bharucha for a ride by claiming that he knows Lallya's family and will help Bharucha find them.
