Rating: 2.5/5

F.A.L.T.U is a Hindi feature film produced by Vasu Bhagnani under the banner of Puja Films which have produced dozens of hit films in the past. But this film places on the top list of Puja Films banner because this film is the second film of the producer's son Jacky. The first film (debut film of Jacky) was KAL KISNE DEKHA which didn't succeed and went unnoticed by the audiences.

Cast & Crew: Jackky Bhagnani, Pooja Gupta, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, R Madhavan, Arshad Warsi, Saahil Khan, Darshan Jariwala

Director: Remo D'Souza;

Lyricist: Sameer;

Music Director: Jigar, Sachin;

Cinematography : Vijay Arora;

Choreography : Remo D'Souza

Story : Some students such as Ritesh (Jacky Bhagnani), Nanj (Angad Bedi), Pooja (Pooja Gupta), Vishnu (Chandan Rai Sanyal), etc spend most of their time in parties and clubs instead of college classrooms. The result is that after their final exams they pass with very low percentage. Now due to their low percentage no college is allowing them to study them in their colleges. De to this, Pooja's father decides to get Pooja married. Same is the case with Ritesh's father who runs a small business (shop) and wants him to continue his business. On the other hand Nanj's father is also regretting why his son couldn't score above 95%! Vishnu has some other problem: he is scared that if he didn't get admission in any college his father would beat him badly as children are beaten.

They don't know what to do! How to tackle the situation!

Finally Ritesh strikes an idea to solve the problem to some extent and on the internet he establishes as fake university with the help of Google (Arshad Warshi) and obtains admission letter from his fake college and shows that to his family. But due to some reasons his family members wants to leave him to his college campus physically. Knowing this Ritesh gets disturbed because there wasn't any college building in real! He was going to be caught! He doesn't know what to do. Finally Google comes out with his help and they arrange a big building for one day on hire which could look like their college. They name the building as Fakirchand And Lakirchand Trust University which in short form is known as F.A.L.T.U. They make Baji Rao (Ritesh Deshmukh) to play the role of the fake principal of that college.

This college was started just for one day and just to show their parents that they genuinely had got admission in any college but things take turn when many other students with low percentage like them start coming to their college and seek admission. Circumstances compel them to keep the college running and thus a new University is established with the students who were known as FALTU which literally means 'of no use'.

This film seems to be inspired from Hollywood film EXPECTED! This film contains a bitter truth about the state of the students who score less mark. This film hits on the loopholes of the education system prevalent in India which compels many students to quit studies or commit suicide every year when the results are declared.

Performance : Even though Jacky's previous film KAL KISNE DEKHA flopped his acting was appreciated which he proved in this film. He can act as well as dance in impressing manner and can fight too. He holds good potential to go ahead provided he chooses good scripts.

Newcomer Pooja Gupta couldn't impress the audience as an actress and will have to work hard if she wants to survive in Hindi film industry.

Ritesh Deshmukh has emerged as an excellent comedian and good performer after some of his previous comedy films and fits here in the role of Baji Rao. He has justified the role completely but at this age he should not do such roles. He needs to do better roles if he wants to achieve something great.

Arshand Warshi is also good in the role of Google but his role is undefined and unclear to the audience.

Darshan Jariwala too has justified his role and would keep getting such roles for many years.

Direction : Though Remo has earlier directed a Bengali film his film FALTU would be known as his debut film for Hindi film industry. Even though he is a well known choreographer his attempt in his debut film is very good. He has tried to do his best by hooking and entertaining the audiences. He knows the taste of the audience to some extent and in future he would surely deliver super hit films, though this film may not be super hit.

The theme of the film is good which can attract masses but there are some questions which leaves the audiences confused and unanswered such as what does Google do and how could he find solution to any problem within no time. Also how could they raise a building and convert it into a University and from where did they get the funds to run the University.

Music : The music of the film is given by Jigar and Sachin who have done well and some of the songs have become very popular even before the release of the film and after the release of the film the popularity continues. Some songs like Bhoot Aaya, Title Song Jal Tu Jalal Tu, Aai Bala Ko Taal Tu, Chaar Baj Gaye, Le Ja Tu Mujhe etc have hit the market.

Cinematography : It is done by Vijay Arora who has done his job up to the mark.

Lyrics: Sameer has written the songs of the films which fits the film's situations and some of them are catchy.

Choreography : It is the best! Remo is an excellent choreographer and the steps he has given in the songs are very alluring and you would like to watch some of the dances and steps again and again.

Plus Point: Dances are the plus point of this film and youngsters would like to watch them again and again but no body knows whether they would go to watch them in theaters or would be satisfied in watching on TV screens and videos.

Conclusion : This film is good effort by Remo in terms of direction and dances and the actors and the message of the film is good and it also entertains you though the subject is old.

Verdict : It is a film above average and there is no problem in watching it. If you want to spend one or two hours you must watch this film.
