Hate Story Review

HATE STORY is a Hindi feature film which released on 20th April, 2012. This flm has been written and presented by Vikram Bhatt and directed by Vivek Agnihotri. This film was talk of the town due to its bold promos in print and video. Does this film contain matter which can keep the audience entertained and hooked? Read ahead the review of HATE SORY.

Story : Kavyaa (Paoli Dam) is a journalist. But things take turn and she feels cheated by an employer who exploits her, uses her body and humiliates her. Feeling cheated and betrayed she vows to avenge her humiliation and turns into a sex worker.

In this way, becoming a prostitute, she goes on taking revenge from them who had used her body or who were somehow involved in her humiliation and molestation.

This affects her family and friends too.

She is even jailed for the murder of one of the person with whom she slept.

Did she really murder him? If not, who is the murderer? How would Kavyaa survive?

Acting : Paoli Dam used to act in Bengali films and this film is her first Hindi film. She has put less effort in showing her acting skills and more on exposing her skin. In fact she has dared to go bare to extreme extent. Nikhil Diwedi is okay because he has got very less footage.

Script : Plot is old and you might have seen numerous films on this subject when a woman vows to take revenge when she is raped or when she is betrayed after being exploited in bed. Even screenplay is loose and dialogues are very bold.

Music : Background score is excellent whereas songs are below average.

Direction : Direction by Vivek Agnihotri is okay. But at many places the narration becomes weak and gets diverted. You get nothing to watch new except the exposure of Kavyaa.

Conclusion : This film is a very bold film with adult content; yet it won't satisfy even people who would rush to the theatres lured by the nude posters or erotic promos. Yet at the box office it would really attract viewers due to its adult and erotic promos.

Verdict : If you are an adult, you can go for it without expecting erotic scenes as the posters suggest. At least you would get to watch a revenge story! Go for it for time pass!
