One line Review: This comedy-action-drama comprises of a few fun sequences and can be enjoyed provided one chooses to keep their brains aside!
Positive Points: The movie has an ensemble cast of good looking actors. Gorgeous locales of London, fun upbeat songs, Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh’s comic timing sums up for a good treat.
Negative Points: There is no story or plot to look forward to, but that was pretty much expected from this franchise film. Race, class and colour are used as means to create comedy.
Plot: Ganga (Jacqueline Fernandez), Jamuna (Lisa Haydon) and Saraswati (Nargis Fakhri) are the three Sanskari Daughters of a millionaire Batuk Patel (Boman Irani). Unlike any father, Batuk does not want his daughters to get married. But, these three beauties fall in love with Sandy (Akshay Kumar), Teddy ( Riteish Deshmukh) and Bunty (Abhishek Bachchan), respectively.
When the girls reveal about their boyfriends to Batuk, he makes up a plan to stop them from getting married. Batuk brings a fake astrologer (Chunky Pandey) and convey to his daughters that if they ever get married, he will be on the death bed. Hence, the three guys have to act disabled before him. Sandy becomes crippled, Teddy acts as if blind and Bunty turns mute. Will the efforts of the lovers be fruitful? How will they convince their dad to accept their love and get them married is the rest of the film.
Direction and other Technical Aspects: Sajid-Farhad’s Housefull 3 stays true to its genre. Though it cannot be called a laugh riot altogether, as it has only a few sequences that gives the audience an opportunity to laugh whole heartedly. There are limited funny one-liners that click but, overall it is a positive film, that manages keeps your smile intact all the way through the movie. There is no story, no plot but, yes the viewers will be surprised with random twists from time to time. Nothing much is expected from a comedy film, its whole purpose is to give the audience a hearty laugh and Housefull 3 performs decently in this department. The dialogues were average; the lines of the actresses were unnecessary and pale. Songs, music and background score was fun.
Performances: This film brings back Akshay Kumar’s lovable comic avatar. He is so perfect in whatever he chooses to take up be it action, drama, thriller or comedy. His apt comic timing and on point expressions manages to make you laugh the most in the film.
Riteish Deshmukh who is known to play comic role has done an appreciable job. He is good in his part and invokes little doses of laughter every now and then.
Abhishek Bachchan who is a new addition to this multi starrer, is fun. We have seen him in many comedy films in the past and hence here, he fits the bill and gels appropriately.
Jacqueline Fernandez is beautiful. Straight up 10 on 10 for her looks, her clothes and hotness! She lights up the screen with her presence and her cute performance. She is good; her dialogue delivery part is still weak.
Nargis Fakhri managed to make the audience laugh with a super long dialogue and fun scene that is worth the mention. Apart from that, she is fairly decent in her performance. Weak in dialogue delivery.
Lisa Haydon is good when it comes to acting but, still has to go a long way when it comes to dialogue delivery. The gorgeous lady does not even get the lip-sync right!
Music: Songs are fun, upbeat and enjoyable. The background score is good.
Final Verdict: Housefull 3 is a light hearted, mindless comedy drama that can make up for a decent one-time watch. For its genre, it is a complete family entertainer and as mentioned earlier, it is illogical and hence can be enjoyed only if we choose to keep our brain aside.
