Hum Tum Shabana Review

HUM TUM SHABANA is a Hindi film that released on 30th September, 2011 and is directed by Sagar Bellary.

Story : This is the story of two young people Karthik (Shreyas Talpade) and Rishi (Tusshar Kapoor) who are executives in an event management company and who are in a cut-throat competition. They are each other's rivals and try to lower down each other to rise high which the director might have thought that it would create humor but it's very irritating. Situations take turn and they land up to attend a beauty contest and find Shabana (Minissha Lamba) as one of the main contestant.

They fall in love with her and want to woo her, in which the director tries to create fun but instead end up in irritating you.

Performance : Though both the actors Tusshar Kapoor & Shreyas Talpade have acted well, they appear to be irritating.

Satish Kaushik is as usual in different character and has done as the director had wanted him to do.

Minissha Lamba has nothing to do. She has been presented as a model, beauty queen which is unable to digest.

Script : Script, dialogues etc. are irritating and there are many loopholes in the screenplay.

Direction : This film is directed by Sagar Bellary who had given a hit comedy film BHEJA FRY a few years back. It seems it was coincidence that he could give a hit film earlier because after that film he could not give even a single hit film. Forget hit film, none of his films such as KACCHA LIMBU or BHEJA FRY 2 was up to the mark in terms of creating humor.

Minus Points : Irritating script; overacts of the characters; misfit cast; scenes dragged; irritating dialogues

Conclusion : It is neither the actors who deliver good comedy films nor the directors; it is only the script which makes you laugh. Without that the result of any comedy actor would be the same as Shreyas Talpade & all other comedians in this film. Yet people do not give credit or importance to good scripts; only the directors or the actors take away all the credits. So why did they fail in this film? Sagar Bellar-A big name; Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Satish Kaushik, Sanjay Mishra-Other big names as comedians.. Why couldn't they impress you?

Verdict : An irritating film! Better not to watch in theaters and spending your high earned money! Bear it when it will be aired on your TV.
