Rating: 2.5/5

One Line Review: A common loose-ended love story set in the background of enchanting Paris.

Positive Points: Amazing camera work, beautiful Paris captured in the lens, Preity Zinta's performance, few comic dialogues

Negative Points: Predictable and outstretched story, second half, average direction, melodramatic scenes

Plot: 'Ishkq In Paris' narrates a story of two individuals, an Indo-french girl Ishqk (Preity Zinta) who is from Paris and Akash (Rhehan) who a Funjabi guy from India but settled in London. Both the persons have altogether different traits but one thing in common. Both have a phobia of long time relationships and commitment. The story leaps further when both of them meet on the train to Paris from Rome. It's a typical moment when any Harry meets Sally and both become friends. At the end of their train journey , both of them decide to go on a night out together where they spend time partying and roaming around and part their ways in the next morning without looking back.

So, as per their discussion, both of them spend a night together doing fun, singing songs, enjoying the Paris's glittery night life together without any commitment. In the next morning, both of them return to their own lives without even saying a goodbye to each other. After a few days , the destiny again puts them together for some moments and both commitment phobic personas realize their feelings for each other. Akash proposes to Ishkq, but she refuses saying that she does not want to indulge in any life long relationship and vows.Listening to this, Akash curses Ishqk and both of them again decide to part their ways, now for final.

Will the two lovers realize their true feelings for each others?

Will Akash be able to change Ishkq's perspective towards relationships and commitments?

Will the destiny be able to unite the estranged lovers?

Direction And Other Technical Aspects: 'Ishkq In Paris' is just another love story which has lots of loopholes in it. The fairy tale where a boy meets a girl, both spend some cozy moments together and end up in a relationship has been shown on the Indian silver screen for thousands of times. But this time, the director Prem Raj aka Prem Soni who has earlier directed 'Main Aur Mrs Khanna' has chosen a deficient story which has a lot of scope to work on. However, the locations of Paris chosen by the director are simply marvelous and treat for viewers' eyes. The story is largely predictable and at some moments becomes stretched. The fans of love stories like 'Morning Glory' , 'The Knight in Shining Armor ' and 'Pride & Prejudice' would love this story which has many loose ends. The camera work done by Manush Nandan is amazing. He has captured the beauty of Paris just perfectly. The editing is average.

Performances: Preity Zinta has made her comeback on the silver screen after a short break. As usual she looks good and performs well. But in some scenes, her acting touches the borderline of overdoing it. She is back with her killer smile and cute dimples and is a treat for her fans to watch her chirping on screen. Rhehan an ex TV star, looks confident on screen and delivers his part quite well. He does not seem to be dominated by Preity's star value , but looks equally confident while sharing the screen with the renowned Bollywood Diva. The chemistry of both the lead actors on screen is far-fetched and uncommon. Rhehan manages to cope up with Priety's zest on screen quite well. Isabelle Adjani (Ishkq's French mother) does her part well in her scenes. It is hard to digest to see the French beauty as Ishkq's mother who looks young. Chunky Pandey who appears in cameo marks his presence in his short role. Salman Khan sizzles the screen as well in his short appearance in a song sequence.

Other supporting actors do not have much scope to showcase their skills.

Music: The music which is composed by Sajid Wajid is not much impressive but goes well with the film. The songs 'It's All About Tonight' and 'Kudiye Di Kurti' are foot tapping and peppy. The background score is average.

Final Verdict: If you are a great fan of 'Mills And Boons' and want to see your favorite dimpled beauty Preity Zinta after a long time on screen then you can go for it. Otherwise wait for the satellite release.
