JANNAT 2 is a Hindi feature film which released on 4th May, 2012. This movie has been produced under the banner of Vishesh Films and was promoted heavily as the sequel of JANNAT. It falls into the genre of crime-thriller. But is it a sequel of JANNAT and is it worth watching? Read ahead the review of JANNAT 2.
Story : Sonu Dilli (Emran Hashmi) is in the business of weapons. He sells weapons illegally and above all he keeps on justifing his wrong deed and keeps on proving himself through some dialogues that he is a well wisher of them who want to kill each other and by supplying guns, he makes their task easy.
Pratap Raghuvanshi (Randeep Hooda) plays the role of an A.C.P who wants to make use of Sonu's negative talent and wants him to make him his informer. Initially Sonu denies but with lots of persuasion he gets success in converting Sonu as his informer.
What happens later? Is he able to hunt down the criminals involved in illegal business of guns? What happens of Sonu?
Also there is Jhanvi (Esha Gupta) in the role of a doctor for whom Sonu falls in love. What is the result of Sonu's love?
All such queries are answered in the remaining part of the film.
Acting : Emran Hashmi is as usual, or you may say a little better than his previous films. Randeep Hooda is good. Esha Gupta is sizzling an as a newcomer she is above average. Arif Zakaria is good.
Script : Story by Shagufta Rafique is unconvincing and screenplay confusing. Dialogues are okay for the frontbenchers which may not convince the intellectuals. Dialogues by Sanjay Masoom are not even suitable for family and children due to double meaning.
Music : Background score is good and according to the requirement.
Cinematography : The work of DOP Bobby Singh is also good.
Direction : The director Kunal Deshmukh has tried to make you smile through double meaning dialogues which were not needed. It seems the success of DELLY BELLY has overpowered him to go with that formula. However, his takings are good. He can do better with better plots and scripts.
Conclusion : Even though this film was promoted as the sequel of JANNAT, it is not. You may like it in parts but it is not for your family. Due to its double meaning dialogues, mass may get attracted towards it (who made DELLY BELLY big hit). Otherwise it is hardly going to survive on the box office.
Verdict : Watch only if you have nothing to do better.
