Jism 2 Review

JISM 2 is a Hindi feature film which was slated to release on 3rd August, 2012 but in some theatres it was released on Thursday night. And some multiplexes were almost houseful. It was one of the most controversial film of this year due to its posters and erotic trailers. It also remained in news due to Sunny Leone-The Porn Star. It has been directed by Pooja Bhatt and produced by her and Dino Morea. It falls in the genre of erotic thriller. But is it worth watching? Read the review below.

Story : Ayaan (Arunoday Singh) is an Intelligence Officer whose chief is Arif Zakaria. They want to get some important data of Kabir( Randeep Hooda) who was once an Intelligence officer but who had turned as a terrorist and who had killed many officers of his own department. They also want to gun him down after obtaining his personal data. But they do not know how to execute it.

Ayaan meets Izna (Sunny Leone) who is said to be a porn star (but how she becomes a porn star is not clear in the film). Ayaan asks her to do a job for his intelligence department. Izna is in dilemma. She doesn't know what to say. Ayaan asks her fee to do that task and she demands INR 10 crores to be transferred in her account before she began her work and Ayaan agrees.

Thereafter he takes her to his senior officer Arif Zakaria who shows her a photograph of Kabir who was to be trapped by Izna. While narrating about Kabir showing photo of Kabir, Arif Zakaria narrates her that an intelligence officer had turned a terrorist and needed to be punished.

She trembles while listening to Kabir's story because she had loved him genuinely and suddenly he had vanished from her life. She spent her time in sorrow for years for him and now she was coming to know that he was alive and had turned an assassin. She couldn't believe her situation.

But finally she has to believe. Initially she doesn't want to trap him but finally she is convinced to do it.

From here Ayaan and Izna prepare web to trap him and obtain his personal data and kill him.

But Kabir is very harsh and can kill any intruder in his life or premises. Izna feels that he has completely changed.

So is she able to trap him?

There are killings in the end which is different from what the audience could expect.

Performance : Sunny Leone failed to impress as an actress. Her acting is below the mark. She doesn't look beautiful either. She has exposed her skin too much. However, her role is so powerful that she manages to steal the show at last. Even though she is portrayed as porn star, she doesn't look vulgar to that extent (as was shown in the promos). Randeep Hooda has performed brilliantly. Arunoday Singh too has done his part very well. Arif Zakaria's acting is also impressive.

Script : The story of the film is good. Its screenplay is tight and keeps the audience hooked. Its dialogues are also good at many places despite being an adult film. There are meaningful dialogues.

Music : The song 'Abhi Abhi' has been sung by K K which is average. Its lyric is good but music composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee is not so appealing. 'Ye Kasoor' song has been sung by Sonu Kakkar and music for it has been composed by Mithoon. Again lyric of this song is according to the subject and above average but its music composition is average. Sonu Kakkar has also sung it in average manner. The song 'Maula' again composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee is good. It has been sung by Ali Azmat which appears good when you talk about singing; it fails to impress in music composition. The music of 'Ye Jism Hai To Kya' is composed by Arko Pravo Mukherjee which is good and it has been sung by Ali Azmat in a well manner. Song 'Darta Hoon' has been sung and music composed by Rushk which appears to be noise more than a pleasant song. The track 'Hey Walla' Sung by Unoosha is different. Its music has been composed by Abdul Baasith Saeed is fast and above average.

Direction : Direction by Pooja Bhatt is good. She has exaggerated some love making scenes otherwise this film could have been much better. She has taken all the shots very nicely and her choice of locations is also good (though at times it gets limited to only a few locations).

Conclusion : From the promos of this film it appeared to be very erotic and vulgar due to Sunny Leone (as porn star) but it is not so. It is like any other film but the difference is that it contains some love making scenes of Sunny Leone. Sunny Leone is mostly seen in bikni and bra which would attract most audience. However, its story is also good as well it keeps you hooked till the end and doesn't bore you.

Plus Point : Script; Direction

Minus Points : Some love making scenes of Sunny Leone exaggerated and inserted unnecessarily.

Box Office Predictions : Though posters of it appeared vulgar and trailers were erotic and vulgar, the film is not like that and it would attract audiences and may become hit.

Verdict : A different film. Not for Sunny Leone or erotic scenes, but for different type of story, it can be watched once.
