Kochadaiiyaan Plot
Rana Ranvijay (Rajinikanth), who is known across the kingdom for his bravey and valiance, is also a close aid and trusted bodyguard of king Rikudaman (Nassar). His younger sister Yamuna and the king's only on Udaybhan (R. Sarathkumar) are in love and finally get married with the king's approval.
At the same time Rana and the king's daughter Vadana (Deepika Padukone) also love each other and want to get married. Though the king approves the marriage of his son and Yamuna, he disinherits him ad the heir from the throne as he has married someone not from the royal lineage. In no time, Udaybhan leaves the royal court to settle somewhere else.
One night, when the king is strolling, he is assaulted by an unknown assassin, but is promptly saved by Vadana, after which it is revealed that he is none other than Rana. He is imprisoned for this act and also confronted by Vadana for attacking her father. In reply, he narrates the story of his late father Kochadaiiyaan, a brave warrior and general in the king's army and how injustice was inflicted upon him despite his devotion and patriotism.
The further tale narrates the story of Kochadaiiyaan and whether Rana be able to bring the king to justice or not.
