Krantiveer was a huge success in 1994 which was directed by Mehul Kumar. 2010 Krantiveer – The Revolution is a sequel of previous Krantiveer. Though this film is not as powerful as last one, it is not so weak also.
In the last film, there were powerful actors like Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia. This film contains new casts such as Samir Aftab, Aditya Singh Rajput, Harsh Rajput and above all Jahan Bloch who is also the daughter of the director Mehul Kumar.
Except a few flop films, Mehul Kumar has made good and hit films earlier. So you can't expect a bad film from him, especially when he is launching his daughter.
Mehul's daughter Johan has got a powerful role. In this film she is Roshni. This film begins from where last film had ended. In the last film, Pratap Narayan Tilak (Nana Patekar) was the man responsible for the last revolution. In this film Roshni is playing his daughter. Alike her father, she too is a true Indian who hates corrupt people and likes honesty. When she sees evils still prevalent in the society, she determines to free the nation from corrupt people and anti social elements. She becomes a TV journalist who works as an investigative journalist. She goes on exposing villains and corrupt people of the country who are on high positions in the guise of good people. She exposes ministers and business tycoons. Other newcomers such as Vishal (Samir Aftab), Goldie (Aditya Singh Rajput) and Uday (Harsh Rajput) are her friends who give her full support in her mission.
Even though the film lacks big stars, its story is good. Its direction too is okay.
Mehul Kumar has tried to give a good message to the youngsters.
Johan is not bad and has tried to perform her part well. She will improve slowly.
Now a days hardly anyone dares to make films in which heroine (female) has to do something worth. They are only used to expose their bodies, give kissing scenes, dance with the heroes etc. But in this film Mehul Kumar dared to give full footage to a female character. Now –a-days even girls are doing everything. Take the example of Kiran Bedi. So, why films should show only heroes doing brave act?
Some songs are okay. Other technical parts such as cinematography, make up, costumes are average.
Well! Since it lacks commercial part, it may not attract a large audience. Hence business wise it may fail to collect revenue.
However it's not a bad film and should be watched. It is foolishness to compare its cast with earlier film.
Worth watching!
