Lootera Plot
Year 1953. A wealthy local zamindar Roy Chaudhary (Barun Chanda) lives in Manikpur, a small and placid village in West Bengal along with his beautiful daughter Pakhi (Sonakshi Sinha). One day, an archaeologist Varun Srivastav (Ranveer Singh) along with his friend Devdas Mukherjee (Vikrant Massey) arrives in Manikpur for the purpose of conducting research about a place near a 500-year old temple. Both of them start living in the home of Roy Chaudhary and successfully impress the zamindar with their knowledge and charm. In the meanwhile, Pakhi falls in love with Varun and both of them decide to get married in the presence of Pakhi's father Roy Chaudhary.
But, the things go haywire and Varun suddenly vanishes from Manikpur, leaving behind the love of Pakhi. Unable to cope up with such a huge shock, Roy Chaudhary dies of stroke. After the death of father, to forget the wounds of past, Pakhi decides to shift to her Dalhousie home in the year 1954. Once again, Pakhi and Varun meet under extraordinary conditions and the story unfolds its chilling pages.
