One line Review: Astonishing message by a unique Saint in a filmy way, but....
Positive Points: Message given throughout the film, Music
Negative Points: Daily soap level visual effects; unwanted scenes and songs; average cinematography; poor direction; childish action sequences
Plot: Guruji aka Pitaji (Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan) is a social reformer, ace footballer, rapper, 'farishta' overall a man with multi talent personality. Guruji's main motive is to free the society from drugs and other awful habits. Due to his mission lacks of youth free them self from drugs and the drugs mafia's business goes down day by day. This leads multiple attacks on Guruji to kill him. This is overall the plot attempt to kill and survive.
Direction and other Technical Aspects: No doubts that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan is a good singer cum musician but, direction (Director: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan & Jeetu Arora) wise both has to cover long journey . Visual effects are very low level one must easily understand its technical cum editing faults. Action sequences are not design well which makes very irritating at some point as looks over filmy. Cinematography by Jagtar Singh Mangal is below average.
Performances: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan done well in the character as there is nothing to show high level acting skills in the movie due to its script.
Jayshree Soni and Flora Saini performance is good. Other supporting characters are totally headache.
Music: Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan has designed the music-lyrics and is the good part of the movie. Few songs are forcefully inserted and that can be avoided, songs are inserted between 5-10 minutes gaps, which you can say poor editing gap. The background music by Amar Mohile is the one which holds the film in its elements.
Final Verdict: The main purpose of the movie is to convey message to the society which is done its job. Do you like Bollywood Masala Films and expecting the same from this movie? Strictly not for you. You are spiritual person and believe in one GOD then this movie is for you. The message is so powerful and genuine which I was expecting from the movie. Now-a-days where few bollywood producers is coming out with movie which only intention is making money at any cost and they are trying to draw a line between different religion and showing error and they success to make profit using that formula (divide and rule). But 'MSG - The Messenger' is totally opposite from the others. The entire movie is only trying to shows that there is only one GOD and we all are children of him and this is the strongest point for the movie, in short 'Love All Serve All' is the main mantra. If you remove the message from the movie I would like go with .5 stars out of 5. But the message of the movie is awesome and only for the message I would like to give 5 out 5 and neglect it's all technical faults as the intention of the movie looks good as they want to give their message using a modern media. Definitely Guruji's follower will enjoy the movie to see their Guru on the silver screen.
