Phoonk 2 is a horror movie produced by Ram Gopal Verma and directed by the debutant director Milind Gadagkar. Its casts are Sudeep, Amruta Khanvilkar, Ahsaas Channa etc.
This film is the sequel of Ram Gopal Verma's earlier horror film Phoonk. If you haven't watched Phoonk you may not enjoy this film because Phoonk 2 is directly related with Phoonk 1.
In Phoonk the woman Madhu is killed because she practiced evil things. But in this film she comes back from the graveyard in the form of a spirit to take revenge from them who were responsible for her killings.
Phoonk 2 is the story of Rajiv (Sudeep) who shifts to a remote house with his family. There his children observe some horrifying things. His son tells him that he could see one doll moving around him and following him and his wife too complains him that she could hear noises of unseen people. She is very tormented by the noises and weeps.
Firstly Rajiv couldn't understand why his family members were complaining all those things but by the course of time he realizes that something was amiss. But till he realizes it becomes too late. He wants to meet someone who could solve his problem but that person (Manja) is killed by the ghost of Madhu.
Milind Gadkeker, who has directed this film, has also written it. He has tried to follow the steps of his mentor Ram Gopal Verma and has tried to create a bit horror in the film but script is not so good and slow and faulty at many places. If you are a regular watcher of horror movies or have watched some hit horror movies of other countries, you will hardly find any thing new in this film.
However at some places it has become successful in creating horror whereas rest of the film is simple.
The first half of the film is slow to build up the story and pace only begins when the ghost becomes serious and piling up of bodies start.
Ashwini's make up is dirty instead of scary. She wears black make up which is not scary even a bit. Putting blue contact lens too doesn't make it scary. And the wig gives dirty look instead of horrific look.
The artists are average in this film but the background music is up to the mark.
If you haven't seen any horror film for a long time you can go for it but if you are regular watcher of horror films it would give you nothing new so its up to you to decide whether to watch this film or not.
