Rating: 2/5

One Liner Review: A unique horror movie that raises the sense of intrigue.

Positive Points: Spooky moments with spine-chilling special effects and 3D combined with thrilling back ground music will keep you engaged throughout the running time.

Negative Points: For those who expect an Alfred Hitchcock styled horror flick, this one shall not prove palatable to them.

Plot: Kunal played by Akshay Oberoi, a pizza delivery boy goes weak on his knees falling in love with a girl Nikita (Parvathy Omanakuttan), an aspiring novelist. They get married to each other. She has her strong ideologies and perceptions about supernatural powers. She is in pursuit to pen a thrilling horrifying story. Kunal on the contrary does not believe in the existence of supernatural powers or paranormal happenings.

Things start taking an ugly turn against Kunal when he is assigned to make a pizza delivery at a haunted house. Kunal, enters the house to accomplish his task to deliver the pizza on time. He enters the home and then creepy occurrences start taking place putting Kunal in a state of room panic. After that follows a seriesof events of human-evil chasing leaving Kunal surrender to his perception of nihilism.

Whether Kunal be able to find a way out of the evil possessed house or not, forms the rest of the story.

Music: The music is just average. Mikey Mccleary, Saurabh Kalsi and Shamir Tandon have composed the music for this movie overnight it seems as there is hardly any song that is foot-tapping or at least enjoyable in sync with the visuals. Ankur Tewari and Arjun Kunungo have rendered their voice for all the songs in this movie. The song "Gimme Pizza" voiced by Ankur Tewari and Arjun Kunungo is high on tempo. "Haddiwali Mundi" and "Theher Ja" are just average songs. From the whole album, it is the song named "Tum Chal Diye" that is a little soothing though miles away to be tagged a true melody. The trio music directors Mikey Mccleary, Saurabh Kalsi and Shamir Tandon will find it too tough to sustain if this is the kind of skill they are exhibiting. The sound design by Tapas Nayak is bang-on and spooky evident in the scene where 'Delhi Belly' track "Bhaag DK Bose" is played in the back ground which means that it is time for Kunal to get off the house.

The background score by K aka Krishna Kumar is interesting and amplifies the fear factor.

Performances: Akshay Oberoi as the male lead has done a good job. He may fit perfectly into a rom-com with his average acting skills though nothing to complain about stealing the maximum of the screenplay. Parvathy Omanakuttan is surprisingly good. During some intense moments, she has put all her efforts to build a strong foundation which ascertains her seat in the Bollywood industry. Dipannita Sharma was equally commendable in her role and she has already proved her skills in films like 16 december and my brother Nikhil. Arunoday Singh was apt including D'santosh, SONALI SACHDEV. Despite the grey shades, Rajesh Sharma looks pleasantly flabbergasted at intense panic moments. Blunt on-the-face humour by Dalal Hussain is hilarious and tickles you.

Direction and other technical aspects: Director Akshay Akkineni (son of legendary editor Sreekar Prasad)debuts into the Bollywood industry with a horror movie shot in 3D. Technically, the movie has all the vital garnishing it requires most importantly as it is a horror movie. Cinematography by Jayakrishna Gummadi is visually appealing for its haunting frames as he has already proved his talent in films like Okkadunnadu (telugu) and Winter (Malayalam). Editing by the director's father and legend Sreekar Prasad is crisp and precise with a running time of 110 minutes. The frames and camera angles are used properly to chill you down your spine.

Production designing is commendable evident in instances where Kunal is trapped in the spooky residence abounds with everything quintessentially horrifying; bloodied bodies hanging like paintings on the walls, a dark haunted bungalow with a torch as the only source of light, a disconnected phone line that suddenly rings, closed doors, shadows lurking around.

Verdict: Too much of special effects with an over-dose of 3D, you will be pulled easily into the movieif you set your expectations low.
