Road Movie is a film made under the banner Studio 18, August Entertainment Private Limited, The Indian Film Company and its producers are Ross Katz & Susan B. Landau. The director of the film is Dev Benegal and the casts are Abhay Deol, Satish Kaushik, Virendra Saxena, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Md. Faisal Usmani, Yashpal Sharma etc.

This is the story of Vishnu (Abhay Deol) who doesn't want to get into his father's oil business. He desires to see the whole world. But he finds himself trapped in the clutches of his family. However, one day he manages to leave his home and with the help of a lorry he starts for a new journey.

On the way he meets some unique persons such as a young kid (Faisal), a beautiful girl (Tannishtha) etc. In the desert their search for water starts.

During the course of their journey they meet many corrupt police officers, local goons and water don (Yashpal Sharma). It worsens their problem. What happens is the rest of the story.

They keep roaming on the barren lands of the desert in quest of water. Meanwhile they keep the cinema running everywhere to justify the film title. You don't understand from where the sound comes as there is no such equipment shown. The key to their freedom is the eccentric collection of films and the two forty-year-old film projectors in the back of the truck.

Road Movie is a film you don't understand why it has been made! It neither entertains you nor gives you any good message.

Music is given by Michael Brook which can neither be appreciated nor criticized.

The performance of Abhay Deol is good. Day by day he is gaining perfection and he has justified his role.

Satish Kaushik is as good as ever. But without good script, their efforts have gone futile.

This film contains everything good; except a good script that's why it doesn't entertain you. Also its an offbeat film and seems to be made for festivals. Hence you can't expect more from this film.

Though it's tiresome, it's not bad. It can be watched in free time.
