RUSH Review : Rush May Crush Your Mind!

In the garb of a crime thriller, RUSH has arrived as a headache for the audience who love watching crime/thriller genre.

Story : The story of this film is stale. It has been shown many times earlier; to name a few can be SURKHIYAAN, RANN, BLOOD MONEY etc.

In this film Samar (Emraan Hashmi) plays the role of a journalist. He works for a news channel Pulse 360. He is very ambitious and tries hard to make it big in the corridors of Crime News. But he is fired from his channel due to unjust reasons.

But he doesn't have to be remain unemployed for a longer period. Soon another channel, which is the rival of Pulse 360 Channel, offers him INR 1.5 Crores package along with perks. The person behind offering him such big offer is Roger Khanna (Aditya Pancholi) through his right hand Lisa (Neha Dhupia).

But soon he comes to know a very cruel and shocking truth about his channel owner Roger Khanna. He comes to know that he was the person behind many gruesome crimes so that his channel could cover them and his channel's viewership could go high.

He decides to expose him and eventually makes a plan.

Is he able to expose him? What plan he makes to expose him? All such queries are answered in the remaining part of the film.

Performance : Emraan Hashmi is average. He has performed better in his recent films such as 'Once Upon A Time', 'Shanghai', 'The Dirty Picture' etc. But in this film, his performance is not up to that level. Neha Dhupia is average. Sagarika Ghatge is not up to the mark. Aditya Pancholi's acting is as usual but he looks fit and slim in this film.

Script : The script is very poor. Its screenplay is very confusing with many loopholes in it. Dialogues are also below the mark. There are many scenes which are not written in a well manner.

Music : Its music director is Pritam who has given many pleasant and hit songs in the past but he fails to live up to expectations in this film. Despite several playback singers, not even a single song is impressive.

Direction & Other Technical Aspects: The direction is poor. The director is unable to keep you engaged or hooked till the end. Even before the interval you start getting bored and you don't get any motivation to watch the movie till the end. But since you have spent so much money on it, you are compelled to watch it till the end to find something worth. But at the end of the day you get nothing except a message.

Plus Points : JazzyB's song Fukraa; Its message at the end; but you think - did you go to watch just for a message or a song?

Minus Points : Screenplay; Weak Direction; Confusing Scenes; Too Many Unnecessary Songs; Performances Not So Impressive; Dullness in the Movie

Conclusion : This film was started by Shamin Desai but after his death his wife Priyanka took the charge of finishing it. So its completion and release got delayed. However, if it would have been a good film, people would have liked it (despite its late release) but it is a below average film so audience is hardly going to like it.

Box Office Predictions : This film may be washed out due to its poor script, performance and execution.

Verdict : If you are thriller lover this is surely not for you!
