Son of Sardaar is a romantic comedy, which lets you feel the warmth love and passion of Punjabis. They strictly follow their typical hospitality and caring nature for their guests, but they can even become rude when the matter is regarding their respect and dignity.
The story is about Jassi (Ajay Devgan), calm, silent, friendly and loving Sardar who is trying to make life in London. He wants to sell his ancestral property in Punjab to get some money in his Wallet. Jassi makes his journey from London to Punjab and his journey to Punjab make audience laugh in heaps.
While travelling from London to Punjab, Jassi meets Meet (Sonakshi Sinha) and he falls in love with her. His fate and destiny take him to Meet's house where he saw his enemy Billu Paaji (Sanjay Dutt), head of Meet's family. Jassi was unknown of the fact of three generations enmity between her family and Jassi's family. Billu Paaji has a record of killing of 49 people and Jassi has now become 50th person to enter his list. But thanks to the "Atithi Devo Bhavah" proverb, which is strictly followed by Billu paaji and his family, according to which inside their house they used to treat their guest as a god even if he is their worst enemy, but outside home only god can save the enemy.
Jassi tries to find the defense as Billu Paaji is waiting outside the house with 25 butchers. Jassi finds himself in the stage of dilemma, whether to run from the house of enemy or to stay there as Meet makes his life full of love.
The game of hide-and-seek begins between Billu Paaji and Jassi, where Billu Paaji wants to catch him out while Jassi wants himself to stay fixed. This confusion creates comic drama and action in the movie.
It is to be seen whether friendly and loving Jassi will meet Meet!! Will he make Billu Paaji satisfy, who wants the revenge from Jassi!!
