Sona Spa Review

One Line Review: An illogical attempt which makes viewer doze off.

Negative Points: Weak story, poor presentation layer, unimpressive dialogues, frail screenplay

Plot: 'Sona Spa' is about a rejuvenation point where sleep deprived people could but a sound sleep for themselves. Here sleep worker girls sleep on behalf of the customers. The concept of the film is if you have problems in sleeping then you can approach to the 'Sona Spa' and here employees will sleep for you. These sleep workers are all young and beautiful girls and their all clients are coincidentally men. During sleep , these sleep worker girls witness all the dreams of their clients.

There is a story of two such sleep workers Rucha Khanna (Shruti Vyas) a rich brat and simple girl Ritu (Ahana Kumrah). Rucha wants to sleep for her insomniac rich father and Ritu wants to sleep for her sleep deprived emotionally disturbed sister. They come to know about Sona Spa and join it where clients pay Rs. 2500 for one hour of sleep. Rucha and Ritu start sleeping for their clients and witness their weird dreams.

Will Rucha and Ritu be able to sleep for their family members and get them cured?

Direction And Other Technical Aspects: Director Makarand Deshpande has come up with a unique idea which is not implemented well. The presentation layer is weak and so are the dialoges. The director has not shown the logic behind sleeping for others and accessing other person's mind so the whole concept behind 'Sona Spa' seems illogical and baseless.

Performances: The two newcomers Shruti Vyas and Ahana Kumrah have done their job well. But the story itself is a weak one so the actresses don't have any other scope to show their potential. Naseeruddin Shah hasn't given any role at all. The other supporting cast is average.

Final Verdict: 'Sona Spa' is a big disappointment to all 'Makarand Deshpande' fans because this time he has given a truly irrational story which has no base at all.
