SPEEDY SINGHS is a Hindi feature film that released on 23rd September, 2011. It has been directed by Robert Leiberman, produced by Ajay Virmani, Akshay Kumar under the banner of Hari Om Entertainment Co. & Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Story : Rajveer Singh (Vinay Virmani) is an Indo-Canadian person who is fond of hockey whereas his father Darvesh Singh (Anupam Kher) doesn't want his son to get involved into hockey. He wants him to get into his family business i.e. truck business which was largely run by his uncle Sammy (Gurpreet Guggi).

Rajveer wants to get into Canadian hockey team but he does not get a place in the Canadian team. This compeles him to build another hockey team. Eventually he builds his own team of various Punjabi players and names the team as Speedy Singhs. This is why the film is titled as Speedy Singhs.

Rajveer's father wants something whereas he wants something else which is against his father's wish. What happens later is what makes the rest of the film. Does Rajveer win the Canada Hyundai Ice Hockey Cup?

Performance : In the role of Rajveer, Vinay Virmani has done well. The film totally revolves around him and he has justified the opportunity. Anupam Kher is also perfect in his role and is a good attraction of the film. Russell Peters is average. Other actors are also okay in their roles.

Script : Vinay Virmani, who is in the lead role, has also written the screenplay of the film which is okay. His dialogues are also good except a few. This is a different type of story and creates some humor.

Direction : The director Robert Leiberman has tried to create humor which will be liked by many (though not by masses). His direction is also okay and has allowed his actors to do their best.

Conclusion : Though there were many films made earlier on sports and games, this is a little different in terms of humor. Even though it may fail to attract masses due to small start cast, it should do well in the multiplexes.

Verdict : No problem in watching it because it can make you smile at many places. Despite small casts, it is better than MAUSAM, in terms of entertainment, that released on the same date.
