Rating: 2.5/5

One line Review: Exceptional performance by the leads, strong plot and execution of the concept.

Positive Points: The suspense thriller witnesses startling performances by all the lead actors which keeps the interest of the viewers intact. The second half is gripping.

Negative Points: There are several dry moments in the first half of the film and it is dragged to length. There is no smooth passage in the transitions from past to present.

Review TE3N

Plot: The movie revolves around John Biswas’s (Amitabh Bachchan) struggle of finding the kidnaper of his granddaughter Angela, who was abducted 8 years ago. The thriller narrates the saddening tale of how an old man does not lose hope and tries to dig old graves to get clues and evidences regarding the kidnapping case. Eight years later, a similar kidnapping case emerges and is handed over to the police. The case in-charge is Officer Sarita Sarkar (Vidya Balan).

Angela’s kidnapping case was handled by Father Martin (Nawazuddin Siddiqui) who was a former cop. The story unfolds as Officer Sarita takes help from Father Martin for this Kidnapping case and they begin the investigation. Will officer Sarita and Father Martin be able to trace the culprit? The answer lies in the climax.

Direction and other Technical Aspects: Director Ribhu Dasgupta has done a fairly decent task with the direction and execution of the storyline. The background score is pretty average and the music also is passable. The narration is slow paced in the first half and is pale. It catches speed in the second half making it intriguing for the viewers. The film is an official remake of the Korean movie Montage.

Performances: Performances are the soul of the movie.

Amitabh Bachchan shines throughout with his impeccable performance. His role as an old loving family man, who longs for his granddaughter, is endearing. His performance makes the story believable.

Vidya Balan gleams as a gem. She performs her role of a cop with full conviction and makes the story even more likable due of her presence.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui is an endowed actor and performs every role he gets with sincerity. He essays the role of a cop turned Father convincingly.

All other supporting actors performed their part fairly well.

Music: There are not many songs in the film due to its suspense genre which acts in the support of the film. The background score is average.

Final Verdict: Watch the film if you enjoy stories with twists and suspense thrillers. The film can be a onetime watch for Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan’s fans.
