TERI MERI KAHAANI is a Hindi film which released on 22nd June, 2012. This film has been directed by Kunal Kohli. It has been produced by Kunal Kohli, Sunil Lulla and Vicky Bahri under the banner of Eros International and Kunal Kohli Productions. The genre of this film is romance starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Do you love this love story after watching it? Read the review before you go to watch it.

Story : The story of this film revolves around Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor who keep meeting in three time zones and fall in love with each other. In one time zone Govind (Shahid) enters into a cabin of a running train in which Ruksar (Priyanka) is travelling alone. She gets shocked to see a stranger in her cabin because that cabin was booked for her. But Govind doesn't care and very soon Ruksar gets impressed with him. He is a struggler (musician) with a guitar with him whereas she is a film star (heroine). After that meeting they get separated and again coincidently meet in a shooting studio where he comes to know how much she missed him. Soon it is revealed that both of them had fallen in love with each other.

In another segment (another time zone when British ruled our country) Shahid is as Javed whereas Priyanka is as Aradhna. Things take turn and Shahid falls in love with Aradhna. But her father (Surendra Pal) is not at all impressed with Javed because he hates British. So he puts an ordeal or test in front of Javed but Javed fails to impress his would be father-in-law. Even Aradhna doesn't like Javed's behaviour. Javed realizes this and in order to impress his love, this time he genuinely does something which impresses her.

In 3rd time zone i.e. in present time zone, it is shown that Krish (Shahid) & one another girl are in a relation but there is a break up just on birthday of Krish. That day he bumps into Radha (Priyanka) who accuses him to be a thief who had bumped into her knowingly and stolen her mobile handset. She gets him arrested and eventually cops arrest him and sent him in lock-up but Radha soon realizes that he was not a thief and he was telling the truth that their mobile handsets might have got exchanged.

She takes him out on bail and says sorry to him. He forgives her but this incident brings them close and soon it is shown that they have fallen in love with each other.

At the same time, Prachi too falls in love with him and misunderstands that he was in love with her.

But soon it is shown that Radha and Prachi were close friends who want to introduce each other their boyfriends.

But on the introduction day Prachi comes to know that Krish had cheated on her and he actually loved Radha. Same is the case with Radha who thinks that he was a cheater who loved Prachi.

Radha (Priyanka) also comes to know that just a few hours back (before bumping into her) he had a break up with another girl. This breaks her heart.

Finally for the audience suspense is created whom Shahid would choose at last.

Acting : Shahid Kapoor is average. His performance is not excellent. So is the case with Priyanka. She doesn't perform in excellent way. She doesn't look even charming. Prachi Desai is okay. Surendra Pal is good.

Script : Script of the film is weak and has many loopholes. You can't digest how a layman (struggler Govind) can enter into a cabin reserved for a film star. And even if he does so, how can the film star so easily forgive him and get so much impressed. Without any perfect reason she falls in love with Shahid.

Music : Sajid – Wajid are the music composer of this film. They did give excellent music in their previous films which released recently but this time they failed to deliver good songs. None of the songs are so pleasant and musical that would last for long or which you would play repeatedly. However, the song 'Allah Jane' is better than the other songs, which is sung by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan. 'Mukhtasar' sung by Wajid doesn't appear to be pleasing enough. 'Jab Se Mere Dil Ko' sung by Sonu Nigam & Sunidhi Chauhan is okay in terms of music composition.

Cinematography : Cinematography of this film has been done by Sunil Patel which is average. However, he has shot scenes of 1960 era in a well manner.

Choreography : Chinni Prakash has choreographed 2 songs which are so and so. Same is the case with 1 song choreographed by Ahmed Khan. They could have explored Shahid's dancing talent more because he is considered as a very good dancer.

Direction : After a gap of 4 years Kunal Kohli is back as director with this romantic film. But he fails to impress you. His direction was very strong in his earlier films such as FANAA but the direction in this film is weak. The director could not connect the 3 stories successfully and also could not present a fresh love story. There are many unconvincing as well as childish scenes in this film.

Plus Points : A Few Comical Scenes

Minus Points : Unattached & Unconvincing Story; Dullness, Lack of Good Music; Weak Direction

Conclusion : This is love story with some light fun scenes but it seems that two three complete love stories are mixed in it which appear as independent love stories. Just due to Priyanka & Shahid all 3 stories appear to be linked with each other otherwise nothing in them connects each other. The chemistry between Shahid & Priyanka is not so impressive. There are a few light moments in this film which may make you smile but rest of the film looks dull without any suspense and thrill.

Box Office Predictions : It may do average business due to its genre and Priyanka & Shahid. Otherwise there is nothing special in this film which may attract mass audiences.

Verdict : You can watch it for time pass if you have nothing else to do. A light film which you may or may not watch! Instead of watching it into theatre, you can wait for its satellite release.
